How did pic-a-lilli not win wings?
The Hammonton Gazette listed readers choice restaurants in Hammonton. The Pic-A-Lilli Is in Shamong and Henri’s Hotts is in Folsom. Both were honorably mentioned as “just over the border”. But I don’t work at the paper, so take it for what it’s worth.

Yesterday I rode from Oswego Lake. Not much to do, but sand roads. We wanted to see the new marking at the Bear Swamp Hill old fire tower. That was only 2 miles away. After that we just rode around till we got 23 miles.

Ticks have been crazy this summer, so I thought I would ride the Roads(sand) at Wharton. Left from Carranza 100_0031.JPG along the campground. Not as far as Apple Pie Hill, Speedwell Rd. to Speedwell.20200903_200225 (2).JPG Then Friendship.20200903_202210.JPG20200903_202239.JPG20200903_202414.JPG Hawkins Bridge, then the Orange Trail to Mount Rd. Headed back to Carranza via Mount Devious. 27 miles, 87 feet of elevation. KHS fat bike, fixed,20200903_202220.JPG20200903_202229.JPG.

In the past, I have tried to get from Hawkins Bridge to the orange trail near Mount. No luck. So today I thought I would get off of the orange trail on the road near Mount, and ride to Hawkins Bridge. Brilliant! Couldn't find Hawkins Bridge. Found some cool single track. And got in 26 miles. What a great day. I'm thinking of using this new found single track, some how, on the next GFBD ride. We will see.

oops I did it again!; Well I left from Carranza parking lot, and up Tuckerton Rd. Couldn't get my tracking device to find me, so, I'm riding from memory. New what I wanted to do to get to Hawkins bridge. Nailed it!20201217_201302.JPG20201217_201328.JPG Now to get back to Mount and the orange trail. There are 3 roads that leave Hawkins Bridge. The one I came in on, the one I need, and the other one. Got on the one I needed, but couldn't resist a clean looking fire cut off on my left. Thinking that as long as I am between the two roads, I shouldn't have any problem. Like the slight of hand, I'm miles off of my course. What should be about 25 miles, turns into 35. Good thing GFBD isn't till December.
