What beer are you drinking RIGHT NOW?

I went to Climax Brewery in Roselle Park last night. Its not too far from where I live. The brewer, Dave is proud of his beer and have met him in town before, he is always more then willing to show up at fundraisers and local events and talk about his beer. He is a pioneer in the world of Micro beers, his brewery is 20 yrs. old, this guy knows everything about making beer. I would add this on the list NJ beer tours, not that his beer is anything special but more for the fact that he is a great guy and speaks about beer with much passion.

Enjoyed this on New Years Eve.

Picked up a bomber of the NESHAMINATOR at Wegman's a week or so ago. Wegman's had a limit of 1 per person.

Its their take on a German wheat bock. Kind of flat effervesce-wise so it went down fast.

Really liked the label, although that is not a reason for me to buy a beer. Thought I'd give Neshaminy Creek a try again since their Shape of Hops to Come is a solid one.

I don't usually pour into a glass - at least with 12 oz bottles, but this was 22 oz and I also wanted to see the color.

Every beer I've had from them was pretty much meh. I always try NJ beer when I see it, and I'm usually pretty happy with it. This beer was always a letdown.

So how is this "ManCan" setup? Looks cool but the name is a cheesy, 1970s throwback. Does it work well?
Update: they just posted that some people received regulators that leak. As a result, they are shipping new regs to urrrryone. That'll put a dent in the bottom line. They may have rushed to production.

In other news, an unforeseen downside. My local hop shop does $2 off a growler with a NJCB card. Even though this is 2 growlers in volume, only a single discount-boo! 😉

Another option worth a look is the Drinktank. It is double walled which is nice, but from the pics it doesn't look like the CO2 is permanently attached. Not sure if you just charge it while pouring or what. Also comes in 64 and 128 sizes.

I have also seen screw on CO2 taps for standard threaded growlers. Also an option if you already have bottles.

Revisited an old friend.

He's doing well.
