What beer are you drinking RIGHT NOW?

Sierra Nevada porter-
didn't have the right beer for dinner,
but this'll do.

Speaking of SN had a Hoptimum Imperial IPA
the other day. Damn tasty beverage that one.
4.5 tap handles.

Rogue's Dad's Little Helper Black IPA-
Meh. Not making top 5 list of BIPAs.

This one's for you Matty.

ST 2xIPA- damn fine beer.

Beers I'm not so keen on
Founders
Wasn't blown away by the Centennial IPA-
Good enough, but I there are others I'd rather have.

And their Dry-Hopped Pale Ale- meh.
It packs only 35 IBU's, and just tastes kind of watery to me. Not worth the pricetag.
I get that it's a pale ale and not an IPA, but I expected more.
Maybe their breakfast stout set the bar higher than their other offerings can reach.

Moat Mountain Brewery
Was there last week and tried their sampler and an imperial pint.
Overall- meh.
Nothing I would recommend. Flavor seemed lacking across their styles.
The square tail stout wasn't bad as it warmed up, but the rest I could take or leave. The nice thing is cheap pints.
I came away with a bomber of their imperial stout. I'll report back on that one some steak night.

Tuckerman Brewing
Pale ale- better than Moat Mt offerings but still didn't blow me away.

Carry on.

Normally I'm drinking Tenfidy lately. Yesterday had Ballast Point Sea Monster Imperial Stout- 10%. Tonight having Firestone Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA, also really tasty, but lighter at 8.3%

When in Rome....

Union Jacks have been a staple lately with occasional Dbl jack. So enjoyed a few unions today with da wife...

Week in review...a week or so late

I know this is about what you're drinking NOW,
but anyway... a couple of weekends ago

Salt Gastropub
Love this place. If you like beer and are in the area (Mooch), go here.
The food kicks ass, and they do beer right too.

Here's what they had on tap that night

Couldn't decide so I asked nice and tried a few

Of all the options, settled on Kane's Single Fin (NJ Belgian)- not bad and good with a salad.
Kane brewery is new to me, but has earned my respect.
Backed that up with a Yeti Imperial Stout since they took Javahead off the menu.
I keep asking them to do growlers. Hopefully they will just to shut me up.

Saturday
Had a little beer tasting with friends working through the basement stock.
In order of appearance (Left to right)

All winners, but for me, I think my favorite of the night was the Mystique Brunet Belgian. Very tasty.
And the hype around the Rochefort is no joke.

How do you like the Union Jacks?
I keep passing them by
