What Bird Did You See Today?

Terrible pic but I've seen this little guy many times riding to/from a local park (Carlton reserve). He/she is always hanging out on these power lines and it's the tiniest raptor I've ever seen - about the size of a robin. Apparently it's an American kestrel:

Anyone know if ospreys are in Morris county? I’m by splitrock res. Pretty sure this was an osprey circling and diving into a pond next door to me. White underbelly, long black wings. So cool watching it circle, then with bent wings drop out of the sky and splash into the water.

It looks like an Osprey. I usually hear the screetching and then look up. They can fly pretty high but there screetch carries.

I live in Motown, no pics, but saw a bald eagle today. Never seen one in town before.

def an osprey. they are everywhere down here

Yeah, no doubt. Always thought they were only on the coast. Might be nesting in my yard so I’ll be keeping an eye and ear out for more.

A couple of things-
The other day I was watching a resident Osprey circle above the lake.
Until he wasn’t- dove in from on high to catch some dinner.
Man that was pretty f-ing cool.

Not my pic, but this gives you the idea

Then this morning, sitting out with my coffee, I heard a familiar buzz buzz...
Shit! I don’t have the hummingbird feeders out yet!

Needless to say, they are now filled and ready for business.
