Maybe using a bash guard attached to the frame? I use the OneUp on all my bikes, kind of works like a sled on rocks/logs...Finally got the cranks and BB installed, but now I ran into a new problem. The bashguard I have from Wolf Tooth doesn't play nice with the XTR crankarm. It's keyed correctly, but it doesn't lay flat, so now I'm slumming it with no bashguard and a SLX spider/chainring. New pedals are sexaysexay.

December is pump track month. At what value of n, should your n+1 be a dirt jumper?
Do you really need the bashguard? Does that XTR crankset use the 104BCD?
Afaik, wolftooth doesn't make a non-bash Shimano mount. Kinda dumb, but not enough for me to do anything/complain about it.
The SLX/XT rings wear like iron (cause they are 😉), and the XTR is super tough from the cold forging, so it's not like the aftermarket stuff is necessary...even if the mounting system is slick.
No mounts for a bash guard on the Epic Evo, so it would have to be a BB attachment, which AFAIK doesn't exist for that bike, hence the Wolf Tooth CAMO one. Now why they don't offer one for 12sp Shimano is anyone's guess, but I previously had one for the RF Cinch (on this bike) so that was why I wanted it again.Maybe using a bash guard attached to the frame? Is that press fit BB? For standard BSA BB th Ed adapter are universal and fit between the cup and the frame. None of my Salsa frames came with the iscg05 tabs do that’s what I had to use.No mounts for a bash guard on the Epic Evo, so it would have to be a BB attachment, which AFAIK doesn't exist for that bike, hence the Wolf Tooth CAMO one. EDIT- so they're not compatible with XTR only due to the narrower Q-factor. Live and learn (expensively).
No, it's a threaded BB, cup is 73mm.Is that press fit BB? For standard BSA BB th Ed adapter are universal and fit between the cup and the frame. None of my Salsa frames came with the iscg05 tabs do that’s what I had to use.

Yep, a gen1 Specialist. Bought it years ago to replace a Zaskar but got into 29rs and pretty much forgot about it till now. Climbs like a pig but still fun going down. Lol, 80mm rise, I don't have anything close. But that helps to figure out my setup. ThanksIt's always been low stem and tall bars for me. I guess it goes back to my BMX days in the 80's and I ran the quill stems slammed for less flex. Plus it looks so much better.
Last couple of years I've been running a small spacer (10mm) under my Deity stem and the tallest bar (80mm / 3") Deity makes.
Is that an old Ellsworth DJ frame?
