What have you done to your bike today?

Trying to get the SJ dialed in with the new shock has been a challenge with work/weather, so I decided to cave and put on the tires I want to use when I go to Moab end of April.

I'm going with the new Schwalbe Albert Trail radial tires (soft rear, ultra soft front). Also took the opportunity to re-tape the rims. Glad I did all this now, because one of the valves was a bit corroded and hard to remove, so I ordered new ones. Yes, I have spares, but not in the color on the bike now (silver), and well, that shit matters.

Stalled maintenance sucks almost as much as not being able to ride.

FINALLY got out for a ride with these on. I raised the PSI by 2 F/R. Gotta say, so far I'm impressed. I only rode them at Allaire, but I can feel the difference in how they ride; it's weird because they are firm but forgiving at the same time. They definitely hook up in turns great, too, but I'm running Ultra Soft on the front and Soft out back. That said, there's like 0% squirm.

Can't wait to try them out at CR next.

Wear on the Radials is pretty good. I have Ultra Soft front and rear and both still look almost new with a couple of hundred miles on them.

Winter grip seems good as well... as long as you know you're on ice.... 😕

Pretty wild. From everything I’ve researched, they will feel and perform as good (if not better) than 170mm cranks. I’m curious if bike companies are going to start making frames with lower BBs and these shorty cranks? Seems like a win-win scenario.

That's the plan! Just need to find something that is a close match to the fork, I think it will look pretty slick.

New tires combo on the SS Recon Race / ForeKaster (me like 👍). Swapped out the stem to a slightly longer one and dropped it one spacer to make it a little more XC. Probably gonna drop it one more, still not quite aggressive enough. 🙄

Acquired, color is not perfect but it’s close enough for my wallet. It’s actually pretty darn close to the orange stripes in the fork.

Bought a pair of Garmin Rally SPD -sl power meter pedals.
My Cannondale is AI and trying to find cranks with a power meter proved to stressful.
Cheapest I could find was a bike shop in Spain.
Unless my CC is maxed out in the last 2 days.
We'll see.

Cool, what did it replace and how did it compare? I'm setting mine up more as an endurance bike with 1x11

Replaced the front tire which only had 70 miles on it and 1 grip. The side wall cut by a log in October with my crash. Also new brakes but I have to bed them in before I take it for a long ride.
