What have you done to your bike today?

Work in progress.
XT DRIVETRAIN for the Revel.
Found a new set as pictured.
Probably going to buy some XT brakes soon as well.

Waiting on a Hydra microspline driver.
That cost as much as the groupset. 😢

Not today, but on Sunday. The Rekon 2.25 that was on my geared HT got pretty worn. I have another, brand new in the tire stash. Rather than install it, looked in the pile of spare tires and found this. I think it had about 3 rides on it before I got a sidewall tear and removed it at least 3yrs ago. Put it on with some fresh Stan's sealant and placed the bike on the garage floor with the tire down to allow the sealant to do it's job. Was still holding pressure this morning, so I went out for my morning dawn patrol ride.

What's old is new again.

So the Ignitor started to leak from the sidewall cut. Sealant didn't hold after sitting in the sun on the back of my bike at work last Thurs. Stuffed 2 pointy Dynaplugs into the slash. Seems to be working since.

Decided on SK+ 50s to replace the Tracer 47s. They aired out at about the same size. Jim's recent accident has me rethinking whether a tubeless front tire is the way to go on the road. Sure tubeless on the trails are a no brainer, anyone doing tubed in the front and tubeless in the rear to avoid a catastrophic event? I once had a front tire blowout coming around a turn on a tubed road bike, didn't crash but to couldn't stop or finish my turn since it was riding on the rim. Luckily there were no cars or I would have ate it. Seems a tubeless blowout with tires which would also pop off would have been a worse result.

New valves, sealant refresh, and Outrider TPMS (signed up for a Kickstarter campaign like 2 years ago - God I love a good gadget). Anyone else have problems getting a Presta pressure gauge to read on these? I had to use a Schrader adapter, which doesn't screw on tightly, to get a pressure reading to corroborate the Outrider sensors

Well, THAT’s a pretty nice looking ride! 😍

Installed a inline shock on my Orbea.
I've been hearing a clicking noise with all indication that it's coming from the dpx2 . Well see! View attachment 266868
Free hub came for the Hydra hub waiting on cranks and a bottom bracket. My XT conversion is coming along.
DPX2 had a known issue about clicking, it only took loosening the air chamber and resealing it, which you could do with shock on the bike if I remember correctly…

Are you joking?
Nope, I received a notification from Knolly back in 2020/2021 about it, tried it and the click was gone. It was caused by way Fox assembled the shock. That said, that doesn’t mean yours has a different problem. I’ll try and find the email…found the fix. Is your DPX2 a trunkion mount ? Apparently those were the most affected. Deflate the shock, unthread the can and lubevthevthread generously the thread the can back on again, inflate. That’s it, easy to try and if it doesn’t work move to the next cause/ shock…

If the noise is gone now I'll know it's the shock.
Then I'll just sell it. 😂

I saw the picture you shared, not being a trunnion it's probably not the same issue I had.

Started to piece together the Stormchaser...like finding the correct length brake bolts were not hard enough, now I can't figure out the fork.

@Steve Vai , is there a specific type of crown race to go with the Stormchaser fork? The base of the steering tube is way too flared for a regular crown race to fit, as a matter of fact I tought maybe it doesn't take a crown race but the bearing race doesn't fit either. Salsa packs a FSA 41/52 integrated headset with the fame, and while I was trying a Cane Creek Hellbender 70 in the same size, the one that came with the frame doesn't fit either.

Aaaahhh. Integrated crown race does not work with the Cane Creek bearing inner race...I guess the FSA lower will have to do or get a IS52 36x45.

I can't believe Salsa doesn't offer a full carbon fork option.

I kinda think you don’t actually use a crown race on that fork.

No, you actually don't. And the standard CC bearing has the wrong inner race angle. I realized while I was typing the message.
Also wrong, the bearing did fit. I just wasn't expecting the gap between the bottom of the steering tube and the bearing to be that wide, but once installed on the frame everything fits perfectly. I have to say, I much rather like a classic crown race.
