What have you done to your bike today?

LOL. Come ride around the Edison area. I get to Bridgewater and feel safe. Of course Oldwick is much better.
Was thinking the same, when I used to live in Springfield I considered the Bridgewater area to be the “gateway” to the safer roads. But now that I’ve been in Bridgewater a while there’s definitely some areas that don’t leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. All relative I guess!

I couldn't agree more, when I lived there Sienas and Odysseys were hunting me down every weekend. Now it's also Tesla Ys. West of 287 and north of 78 seems to be the sweet spot near me.

Got the new fork installed...went from a Fox 34 PE (130mm) to a 36 Factory Grip2 (140mm)... (being honest, I kinda hate the Kashima, but the performance of the fork is great). I'm 215'ish lbs & for how I use this bike, the 36 feels more planted, plush & stiff. Also did new pads, bleed & popped in a OneUp EDC in the steerer tube.

Had to replace all the main bearings on my Occam. What a PIA. But I got it done and the creaking is gone!
Wanna do mine? I've got one bad bearing on the main pivot and that's the one that requires way too much disassembly including disconnecting the rear hydraulic hose. When I was closing my shop the plan was to replace everything before I closed. Ordered all the parts and then broke my wrist. It's now all sitting on the shelf. If I still owned a shop I would have just sold my bike and ordered up a new one.

Dan asked me to bring the Colnago to the fitting on Sat, so I figured I'd better get it out since I haven't ridden it in a while. The joys of squeezing a 25c tire on 90s frame, since I needed to fix a flat rear tire. He also wants me to try Speedplay (Wahoo) pedals again, so I dug my old set and shoes out as well. I still don't like the engagement, but they feel slightly better after adjusting the cleats. For some reason, I had them really forward on the soles...

Definitely still feels like "going home" getting on this bike - even though I think it's been over a year since I'd ridden it, so it'll be interesting to see what Dan thinks of the fit.

Annoying creaking was driving me nuts so I…

But the f**cking creaking wasn’t gone. It was much less but still there.

I thought maybe I didn’t press the bearings in enough so I took the link and everything apart …again, and pressed the bearings in …again. At this point I should have sold the bike or set it on fire.

STILL CREAKING!! 😡

So I pulled the crank and realized the chainring was a bit loose. Tightened everything up and guess what… no more creaking!

It’s always the f**cking chainring. Amiright @Steve Vai
