What have you done to your bike today?

I haven’t seen to many reviews on CC shocks but the ones I have see are not good, this one is supposed to fit on a Kenevo…


I've had no problems with their shocks. The biggest issue I've seen is that with 4 separate adjustments people just have too much opportunity to screw up the settings. One click is noticeable so having HSR, LSR, HSC and LSC is just too much for some. Hell, the majority of my customers never even adjusted the air pressure in their suspension, never mind touching the dials.

Just buy a Mara and be done with it 🙂

Super tunable internally, if that's your jam (and it sounds like it would fix your problem?)

This is such a thing. 90% of the forks with HSR/LSR/HSC/LSC could just have knobs not connected to anything.

A year or so ago I randomly ran into a guy in a parking lot and was chatting with him and he had a Fox 38 and was telling me he swapped out the Fox 36 he had on there for it. Thinking I'd get some long winded opinion on the differences on forks after asking him what he thought of the difference he just replied with "Um...it's bigger?". Actual performance probably never came into the equation.

Just buy a Mara and be done with it 🙂

Even though I could drop a Cane Creek or Ohlins off at the service center and drink coffee while waiting for it to get serviced, I'd probably go with the Mara. New one with the self equalizing air chambers not gen1. Never on a good enough sale...

If the Mara inline was available when I bought my CC inline coil, I probably would've bought it...

I've bled brakes about a 100 times but first road bike with hydros and I can't figure out why the dot fluid drips out of the caliper after I removed the syringe. This doesn't happen with my SRAM MTB brakes. I've tried it 5 times with the same result. The syringe is still in the lever and locked, but once I remove the caliper syringe and fumble to install the bleed screw, fluid just drips out and there's no pressure on the levers. Any thing I'm missing?

Yeah, most people don't ride enough or even take the time to understand what those settings do and how they affect performance.

I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been a successor or competitor to the Shockwiz. It was a pretty handy tool that would get you 90% to a really good set suspension but you can't even get the app on Android anymore. With Telemetry being all the rage you'd think us amateurs would love something similar but I guess it's not flashy or something they'd be able to sell you over and over.

just checked the play store to confirm this and it shows up for me and will let me install it on new devices, if its getting updates or not i couldnt say.

I do appreciate the insights garnished from the shockwiz and i hadnt realized they discontinued the product (but why would i, its not like you would need more than one as an individual)

Awesome, It was gone for a while. I never bothered to check again since I was using my iPad to run it. Now I can actually use it on trail.

It's solid for sure. I'm guessing that team at Rockshox/Sram focused on flight attendant but who knows. I wish it had more tuneability in the app based on your equipment. Telling me to change the LSC 2 clicks open when I only have 3 position compression isn't helpful.

My closest shop rents one out for a week at a time - that seems like an ideal use case scenario. I actually need to take them up on that and dial in my various suspensions....

I have one you can borrow...got at least another month before I'm riding again.
 
Deferred maintenance: I replaced the pivot bearings on the Lenz. It's been creaky for a week or so [note from the editor: sorry if you were passed on the trail and had to hear the jalopy going down the road], and I finally got tired of it. Good time for it, since it's gonna be rainy for the next day, and the retaining compound needs 24 hours to cure properly.

Naturally, I only cleaned the dirt off the parts I had to 🙂

Lenz? One of these frames? I remember the Lenz DH bike from ~25 years ago, but honestly, I didn't know the company was still around.

Yep, it's a modern one. He went deep down 29+/fat full suspension.

I enjoyed my Stache so much, that when I bought a full suspension, it was Lenz, or Funk. Trek had released a full suspension version of the Stache, but it was...not well received. If they had just made an expanded triangle for a fuel EX, they probably would have sold like gangbusters.

Once you get past the bottom bracket being sky high compared to a modern bike, it's a barrel of monkeys. They're a bit squirrelly at low speeds, but once the wheels are turning, it's super stable.
 
I assume you adjusted your seat height and fore aft position. 60+ with a new position sounds scary. 🫣
5mm up to start. I do keep records of seat height fore and aft on road' gravel and mountain. Knee angle looks and feels good. Also, the older crankset was too long, I am already using 170 on gravel and MTB. At 5'-6" they say I could use 160 but that seemed too drastic.
