What have you done to your bike today?

Gravel rig got more (and likely the last bit of big) love today. First was a Zipp 0 offset seatpost. Geo on this bike really was making a comfortable fit difficult with the Roval Terra 20mm offset.

Now, on to the fun stuff!! As promised, the first (and let's be honest, likely only) S-Works branded Sirrus X!!!! Gold is exactly the shade I was going for, couldn't be happier.

Got these from a NJ woman with a shop on eBay. She was very communicative, and happy to customize the package for what I wanted. Kitschy Stitchin'

Her husband was in Brooklyn a few months ago at a swap meet, I bought some Klein decals which are a tad small but my fault for not checking the size. Going to order the right size

I’ve built up a zillion bikes but believe it or not, I’ve never done a lower service myself at home. ☺️

Just a 50hr service this go around though I replaced the foam rings rather than clean them. The old ones were really dirty and I had a replacement packet. Would’ve replaced the seals too, but the factory seals were stubborn and I was too much of a chicken to pry harder. 😳. Any suggestions on the best way to lever those darn things out would be appreciated.

If you hear that I lawn darted myself, you’ll know how/why it happened. 🙄

My riding has been limited recently, particularly by orthopedic issues: first, achilles tendinosis, followed by (and still present to a degree) plantar fasciosis. But, the most recent prediction of rideable snowfall has gotten me motivated. I resurrected an old fatbike rear wheel fender that fit a previous frame but not the current one. By cutting a slot in the fender nearest to the seattube, I was able to create adequate clearance for the rear wheel. The original fender stays(?) were too short for the current frame, though, so I shaped some new ones out of a couple of metal clothes hangers. With the addition of some velcro straps for improved stability, I'm hoping the stays will be rigid enough to eliminate any contact with the tire while going over bouncy or rough terrain.

I now say...bring on the snow!🤞
