What have you done to your bike today?

Elma has now been ‘downgraded’ to a 27.5+ bike courtesy of 2.8” Rekon+...sounds like fun!

I'm totally confused on what's going on here.

What size rotor is that?

Is the bike setup for post-mount or is there an ISA adapter with a post-mount bracket mounted on top of that?

It is a post mount on the back, designed to run 160mm rotors, but when I got the maguras I wanted to run 180’s so I got the little adaptor for 160-180. The problem is because the seat stays are in the way and I didn’t feel like returning the 180 rotor and getting a 160 I needed to dremel something so the caliper would be able to shift outwards (away from the wheel) and not consustantly rub. This is how I wound up dremeling the frame but the other day I realized if I put a washer on the qr skewer it would bring the rotor away form the outer side of the caliper therefore finally removing all rubbing. I can confirm that in my very limited testing it works fine but I would 100% not recommend anyone else do this. Just buy the right sized rotor. Hope that wasn’t too long lol.

So the washer is basically spreading the frame? The same frame that just got dremeled?

I did you can see it in the fourth pic. Not a lot though because I just got then and I felt bad dremeling brand new brakes.
Would rather have the rear brakes fail than the frame. Also... things depending... caliper is usually cheaper to replace.

But whats done is done. Hope all work out for you.

That brake mounting pt cant take more than 160. My Niner Air 9 RDO is the same.

I mean I wouldn't be willing to ride a frame like that. Warranty certainly voided, frame ruined? You can decide for yourself

I would go back to a smaller rotor and take off the washer and take out the potential for additional stress on the frame.
