Technically an 83 Buick Regal Coupe, but the engine was blown and I never actually drove it. Turns out at 16 I didn't have the money for the SBC swap I was planning for.
The car I owned on the day I got my license was an 84 Firebird with a 305 and an extreme number of mechanical issues.

ha actually this was my uncles car - he gave it to me when I turned 17... my second car was a grey 83 mustang... it was hideous!

My first car was a 'vette ...

... okay, it was a Chevette ... but that's still a 'vette. Dammit.
I Inherited that one when my parents got a new car. The first car I ever bought was an '81 canary yellow Aries-K that had over 100K miles on it. I put another 150K on it. I've had some nicer cars in the years since, but that's still my all-time favorite. I drove that car all over the country. I couldn't kill that engine with a bullet. Nothing on that car worked -- three doors wouldn't open, it rubbed the wheel well every time I took a right turn, & the interior looked like a bomb had gone off in it but the engine never stopped running. Ever. Even when it died just outside of Richmond, VA because something bounced out of a junk truck in front of me and ripped a fist size hold in my transmission, the engine was still working fine. I'd have fixed it if the guy who towed me wasn't a criminal (he wanted to charge me $2000 to fix the transmission. I paid $300 for the car three years earlier.)

my passenger floorboard was semi rusted out and the carpet started smoking once... I ripped up the carpet and put a flat landscaping rock under the carpet to cover the hole - problem solved 😀

Is that an El Cam??? I think I'd have happily murdered a hobo for an El Cam ...
Air cutoff wheel and 15 minutes. I removed the back trunk area of the car to turn into a couch "someday".
