Shhh. If they figure out it's the one bicycle standard that hasn't been changed we'll get boost water bottle spacing.every bike i have ever owned the mounting bolts for bottle cages have been identical

Or was it the brake caliper mount instead? LOLseems the mini-cage std has been introduced.
I use cheap shit cages, and when the trail gets chunky and I start riding like an a$$hat, my bottles eject.Agreed.
The aluminum ones you can bend tight. I have cheap plastic ones that are 15 years old that hold the bottle tight.
Never once lost a bottle.
Worst I've had is some cheap aluminum ones have broken from years of use.
I'm pretty sure Seth the bike hacks guy did a video on bottle cages to see how well different cages hold bottles when he dropped the bike of various heights. I don't recall the outcome but that might help you decide.I use cheap shit cages, and when the trail gets chunky and I start riding like an a$$hat, my bottles eject.
I surf, and every time I break a leash I cutoff and save the ankle strap. On goof off rides when I know I’ll get rowdy, or for enduros, I use them to strap the damn bottle to the cage. But I started racing XC again late this season, where I actually need to get my bottle in and out without stopping, and my cheap cages suck.
At the recent MASS Granogue rewind race I ejected a bottle, and stopping to grab it lost me a lot of time. I’ll be upgrading for sure for the bike I use for xc racing next season.
And I also broke one just last week. Was relieved to find that was the only source of the weird creak I was hearing.
That test he was doing looks like he was testing for under the down tub. I can’t see to many doing well over there.I'm pretty sure Seth the bike hacks guy did a video on bottle cages to see how well different cages hold bottles when he dropped the bike of various heights. Right, so if it can handle being at the bottom side of the downtube without any support from the bottom it can certainly hold it the normal way. No? The Specialized Zee with a strap looks bombproof. That test he was doing looks like he was testing for under the down tub. I can’t see to many doing well over there.
