Hey what's up everybody ? Well as you can see I am new to the site and sport . I used to Bmx a bit in my younger years but it's been a good 12 years since I been on any bike lol .. I am 28 and just picked up a 2012 spec hard rock disc as my first bike , gonna upgrade some parts soon and just have fun with the sport . Throwing this in my work out schedule so I'm not looking to become a pro at this but to get some good cardio and fun .. I'm from north new jersey , so if anyone wants to hit some beginner trails hit me up !! Also , if anyone needs helP with working out lemme know 🙂

Hello, and welcome! Where did you used to race? Flemington was my home track. And, My brother just got the same bike you have, took him for his first bike ride in like 15 years yesterday at 6 Mile, he really enjoyed it, I'm sure you would also, i'ts a nice fast flowy beginner friendly ride!

Welcome to the board. You've come to the right place. I'm form central Jersey but there are plenty of guys/gals here from North Jersey that can give you info on where to ride, hook you up with beginner rides, etc.

When I lived in Texas me and a few buddies used to trick it out locally , nothing crazy . But ya , I did some searching and seems like 6 mile and Lewis seem good for starting out .. Hopefully I go when people are there so I don't get lost haha ..

Where in NNJ? There is a map section that will give you some ideas to ride. I cut my teeth (and other things) starting on Cannonball in Ramapo. I still ride it.

Welcome aboard check out the rides section for information on "rides", also I think there is a beginner ride series up in north jersey plus the rides at JH are on once a month..

Welcome to the show. I used to BMX in my younger years too... but it's been a good 😱 30 years! Damn, how'd that happen.

Considering you should have some built in skills from the BMX you might have some fun at the more technical places - Jungle Habitat and Ringwood are a couple of my fav's for the fun factor.

Welcome fellow northerner. Depending on where north you are Stewart may also be a good option for getting started. Not too technical but lots of fun trails.

I went out to Lewis Morris today and got lost on some of the tracks lol, i kind of navigated around OK on it i guess but i know i wasn't on the easy trails lol, i had fun tho !

Yeah, you can get abit lost in LM; I did the first time I went there. AND, there isn't really an "easy" trail there, imo.

But, it may be good to join the Beginner rides on Thursdays at 6 pm. It's a good workout, and you get to know the trails much better with the good guide(Boris) that leads the pack.

Welcome! Up north has the best trails. Don't worry about looking for beginner trails just slow down the pace and you'll be fine.
Getting lost on the trails is part of the fun, except at a place like Allamuchy...you should make sure you go with a guide there(its big).

Yea i didnt mind getting lost or just jumping on whatever trail , i just didnt want to wonder too far as i didnt have any type of repair kit with me or gps in case something might of happened . Will have to roll with some people next time 😀
