Wheel build 101

Mission accomplished other then a minor hiccup in the first lacing the wheel build went well. I really enjoyed this and will be looking forward to the next one. Taking care of round and true early in the tensioning made cake after final build. I stressed relieved the spokes up to five times per wheel and got a nice even spoke tension all round.

Sweet!

Wait, do I see a spoke going over where it should be going under?...

😉

Give each alloy nip a drop of lube a couple times per year to keep them from corroding and seizing.

Looking good man! How much do you have invested in tools, and what did you buy?

I picked up a TS-2 and a dish tool from a shop in Phil. that was GOB. Also got the Park tension meter. That said you have many DIY and ghetto ways to do on a budget just search around. I think I saw JimV has made a nice one out of an old/broken frame.

Matt what was the total cost? For stand tools all that?

As I said above I picked up some things from a shop that closed one of it's stores. I already had some things. Tension meter was purchased also. From my big garage sale I was able to purchase all parts except rims which was a labor trade. Tools from that shop + shop stand. Garmin 500 and oh yeah niner carbon fork which was from a fox f29 I unloaded. Hidden money is awesome...

I have some other stuff to sell I need to post soon...
