Stillhouse Hollow!
Yes. That one, lol. That almost broke me the 1st year I hit it but my time improved every year after but my g-d i have nightmares about that hill. Just the rawness at the start of it then not wanting to look up to see how much longer it went.Stillhouse Hollow!
That’s a fun one. I’ve crawled and ripped up it. No consistency. I’ve given up on sleeping there. It’s a local motel or home for me.Yes. That one, lol. I wish I could go back to this event, great memories with the C crew and just a great vibe camping there even though I never slept.
Good luck guys and have fun for me .
In a word. HOT. Mentally and physically I was ready for this, but the heat was a different story. Since I knew it was going to be super hot, I had to ride within myself. The first climb I rode steady and smart. Worked with a group until the first aid station, which was the next group behind the lead group. At aid one a few of the guys stopped and I pressed on which was actually good as I saw the next bunch of climbs and descents with no traffic, which I've never seen. I could open it up where I wanted. I started cramping before the halfway point as it was getting close to 11am and was already really hot. I kept going steady on the climbs, fighting cramps, and feeling better when I could get into the singletrack. It was weird, the open gravel climbs would drain the energy, and then I would get my mojo back in the rough rocky trails. Rinse and repeat and DRINK!@xc62701 how was the 101 this year?
And results? I've been searching but haven't found a link yet.Is there a link with pictures by chance?
9:33 for me on the SS. It wasn’t my fastest year but I’m ok with that. Definitely a hot one. Who’s in for next year? 😀 I have to break a sub 9 again like I did 2019.
Maybe I'll make a comeback run at 65!Who’s in for next year?
Nice finish in front of Christian Tanguy. He's a known name, congratulations.I’m planning on going back next year.
Yea I don’t think he was having a good day, but I’ll take it!!!Nice finish in front of Christian Tanguy. He's a known name, congratulations.
I saw Patrick and Nelson with flats early on. They both came by me very quickly later on, it was impressive!Christian flatted in the first half and passed me like I was standing still on a climb. Unreal.
I've ridden with you, not that surprised. :*)Christian flatted in the first half and passed me like I was standing still on a climb. Unreal.
What gearing did you run?9:33 for me on the SS. It wasn’t my fastest year but I’m ok with that. Definitely a hot one. Who’s in for next year? 😀 I have to break a sub 9 again like I did 2019.
They both didn’t make the cutoff at Aid 4.I've ridden with you, not that surprised. :*)
But you were on the SS so there's that if it makes you feel better.
