A very similar specimen was going up the road between parking lo c and b at Ringwood State park last Sunday. Lots of people taking pictures and two of the park pick up trucks escorting it wherever it was going...when I first saw all the commotion I thought Brad Pitt must have been visiting the park or something...

PA bear population has quadrupled over the last 50 years. NJ bear population is 20 times what it was 50 years ago. Declines in hunting means Wildlife Commission harvest targets are not being met.

Yep. One of the reasons for our out-of-control deer population. When my son and I took the NJ hunter safety course 10+ years ago, NJ Fish & Wildlife was really pushing bear hunting. Even gov. Beetlejuice had to re-start bear hunting last year after stupidly suspending it for a few years:

"“I was convinced by experts that non-lethal means were sufficient to control the population, those non-lethal means have not worked sufficiently,” Murphy said.
