WTB: Orucase Ninja / Post Carry Transfer Case / other "airline friendly" bike case

Probably a long shot but...anybody looking to sell their airline friendly bike case? Something like an Orucase or Post Carry Transfer or similar?

One of the major selling points of the bags vs hard case is the weight. For example, United can charge $200 if your check-in bag/case is over 50lbs .. United no longer care about size for bicycles. It's hard to get in under the lbs required for a regular check-in if you use a hard case. It's also generally easier to get around a linear dimension requirement with a bag, if the airline is checking.

I'm guessing that's why Delish specifically pointed out the 2 bags/cases that he did.

I have an airport Ninja you can borrow, but I do need it between Sep 8-20.

Exactly. hoping to find something that's under or pretty close to 62". I just remembered United eliminated the 62" rule on Bikes (at least for now) but I may have to fly Jet Blu a couple of times and I think it's $100+ each way if over 62".

@trailhead thanks but I actually have a Trico case already. It's a beast.
@2Julianas looks like a nice case. Do you normally get charged for oversized on that bag or do they let it slide?

Thanks for the offer @soundz. I may take you up on that...happy to pay you to rent it 🙂 Still would like to find one to buy if possible but not holding my breath.

Thank you @soundz for pointing out that United seems to no longer charge for bicycles. That's huge.

@Delish If you go with a Post Carry, definitely go for the larger one. It's not THAT much larger but it makes a huge difference. Size small MTB frame can fit in the 135L, but it's tight and makes me nervous. My size medium frame fits well in the 150L.

Ah .. I didn't know the bag @2Julianas was selling was that light (19lbs). It does look kind of big, but I think airlines don't check the size as often whereas they will weigh it every single time. It sure does make it easier to pack a bike if you have a larger case. I'd be curious to hear what her experience has been.

I've mentioned before, but I've had a really high success rate. Only real issue I had was last time flying out of Phoenix where half my shuttle had bike bags, the woman running the counter was looking out for the bags. She gave us a "deal" with charging us bicycle fee of $150 a bag vs oversized which United refunded me.

Every other time, no issue. Only issue I have is if I have stuff in my carryon that's heavy that gets a TSA issue. I don't carry chain-whips or such in my carry-on anymore.

I’ve used this bag about 4 times (the one I’m selling is new) only on Delta. I only had to argue with one of the NY-based checkin people. Back from CO, UT, CA never even looked up.
