XC SKI 101, Things You Need to Know

@pooriggy And others
I miss seeing your XC posts!

I can’t recall but there is a type of short ski that was getting some love where you can hike with regular boots and and use these skis coming down. Does anyone know/remember what I’m talking about?

I just discovered this post because @THATmanMANNY replied in here. I've been wanting to try XC skiing for years but just never pulled the trigger. Every time it snows I find myself on Marketplace hoping to find something local and cheap that will work for me.....Glad to see the sizing guide on the first post. Maybe I will finally pursue this for funsies.

I recall someone posting about those little skis, I can't remember who?

I focus more on traditional styles of XC. So far this season I've been to VT two times this year and have been enjoying the snow locally as well.

I got new classic skis for Christmas, which has motivated me to get better with the diagnol stride. These days I don't ski as long as I used to but focus on the technique more. When I was younger and in my prime, I used to gang bang all the time.

My Christmas present.
