Rode almost 23 miles of stephens today. Rigid ebike, everything took a beating. You'll go faster than normal so full suspension needed. Rigids and hardtails will get old fast. 750W is plenty of power. 500w is a good output going full tilt in low range would be effortless but not let you yearning for more. My knee has been hurting from road efforts but still rode for 3 hours just fine. Probably never pushed above 400w any time myself felt like i averaged 100w (probably less) for the whole ride. Think i used about 600-700W/H from my battery. So all told 1000watts for the ride, 333w average watts between rider and motor for the 3 hour ride. Grabbed so much rear brake they glazed over. You will be grabbing them a lot more. Give it another year, you will see ebikes at your park every time you go.

Ebikes let you have fun in the woods without gassing yourself from other structured workouts you have going on. I turned into a roadie over the years because i valued the training over the fun, but now i can do both.

I'm considering an e-bike as a commuter/casual bike. I have a 12 mile round trip commute, and admittedly don't like getting to work sweaty. That said, I really want a gravel bike as casual rider. I'm considering the Specialized Creo as a one quiver solution to this problem, but I'm torn as I miss having a Diverge.

Orbea just gave me a list of Rise models that are now up for grabs. Reach out to me asap if you might be interested. These won’t last long.
No they sure won't last long. Just about every one of my riding friends has one now and one just got his last week after one ride on mine.

Curious, but what are the maintenance aspects of an eBike versus a Pilgrim bike or whatever it's called now?

1. Plug and charge
2. Important to keep a lubed chain on these

You'll find that drivetrain takes a beating and light and fancy is not important, in fact cheap is better.
Sinter pads more better
Other then that nothing as far as maintenance on motor until if/when it breaks. Stay off Bosch and ep8 FB pages.

Not that I’m in the market by any means….but what ARE the service intervals? How long will a chain and gears last now or are there ebike specific? How many charges will the battery take, and what is the cost of replacement? Inquiring minds want to know.

For say xt drive you get half the life of a maintained as normal cheaper drivetrain will be longer.
1500 charges avg approximately that would be 5 -10 years. Batteries will slowly fade in length.
1-2k replacement avg

On an ebike the only component that is ebike specific are the crank arms and possibly chain ring because they need to fit the motor's spindle (bottom bracket). Everything else is literally the same. As for service internals? The only major difference between an ebike and an Amish bike is that an ebike has a motor, a battery, and a switch and nowhere in my owner's manual that says anything about serving any of those parts other than software/firmware updates which you would do on your smartphone. I think I read that a well maintained battery can have over 1000 charge cycles.
