Have you registered for the Rattling MTB Marathon? If not, there is no short course race because the long course race sold out and registration is closed. Wait list for long course only available. That's all I ride up here, not super worried tbh. I also have no expectations this year and will probably aim for 10-15 mile categories. Looking to just find a baseline for racing and go from there.

@jShort Rattling is a MASS series race.
Mayhem is underrated. Its gotten much better. They have added a ton of singletrack, the course flows great and is very dialed in.I'll do Mayhem as an easy way into XC racing
I completely agree but why is it so damn far for the northern folks! That’s usually the dealbreaker for me. Endurance would be the only option worth the drive.Mayhem is underrated. Its gotten much better. They have added a ton of singletrack, the course flows great and is very dialed in.
It’s a very painful race because there are no downhills to recover, but depending on your skill set that could be a positive or negative.
It’s a little over 90 minutes from me so it’s not terrible. I’ll do the endurance again this year.I completely agree but why is it so damn far for the northern folks! That’s usually the dealbreaker for me. Endurance would be the only option worth the drive.
Do I need to buy a USAC license?Bulldog Rump July 23rd
This is a great race. No hiding. Very similar to cathedral pines imo. ZERO climbingIt’s a little over 90 minutes from me so it’s not terrible. I’ll do the endurance again this year.
I thought I would go nuts with boredom doing endurance….but I decided to focus on everything but where I finished in the race. Things like tires, what I wore, nutrition, staying smooth , keeping steady power… and I found myself in such a zen mindset for those 4 hours…. I’m really looking forward to doing it again.
