Is strava going from suck to blow?

When I type my zip code in it takes me away from that page and doesn't let me go back to it. And mentions nothing of bicycle club on the page it sends me to. Is it available in NJ?

Edit:
I found it

Will have to check to see if it's offered in our area in Florida. Doubt I'll ever use it - have wifey as first option and several friends as backups but you never know.

The other strava "benefits" are nonsense - gps device coverage? After almost 11 years and 58000+ miles, many crashes and hit by a car, my device was never damaged. Broke a few mount brackets, that's it. And running race fee reimbursement?? 🤣

Do Strava Clubs/groups still exist? I don't check the ones I belong to...until now. Nothing new posted in the 31/31 challenge since 7/3/2022...at least what I see...same for another club I am in...

So I use a Garmin Instinct 2 watch and Strava. 2 different distances, max speed, and elevation between the 2. But the wife and I live the Beacon. Now I have never googled a different serves that can track me when running and biking. But the beacon is nice to make sure she is safe, if one of us made a wrong turn during NICA practice and to see when we will be coming around the corner at a race.

I think Garmin itself has live tracking.

Could probably go in the "smile" thread. Assumption here. Some dude who recently discovered Strava, and paying subscriber, in July has been targeting specific segments in the area. Picking off long standing KOMs, by a lot. Start/stop total activity distance of 3miles or less, and repeated riding just the segment. Mentioned something in an activity he's on a Trek Emonda. Looks like he's riding some of the bike paths in local parks to get to segments. Also going wrong way down 1 way streets. I think it's probably an ebike.

Only reason I became aware of him was he started following me and was like, "who's this?" He's only following 4 people on Strava and all of us have/had KOMs he's targeted.

People are strange.

Strava doesn't always bring out the best in people.

I've never used Strava for downhill skiing so I'm not sure how it's handled there, but I still can't believe that there isn't anything for lift accessed mountain biking to eliminate the elevation gain from the lift. No, I did not climb Vernon peak at Mt Creek 12 times in 4 hours.

This always confuses me. You see people railing against the "Stravassholes" because they came around a corner too fast. I'd bet that 99% of those riders were doing the same shit before Strava. I looked back, and I started using it in Feb of 2011. VERY rarely, if ever, have I thought "must beat Strava time" while out riding. If I'm training for a race, yeah, I'll ride harder, but you still need to be in control and respectful. I feel it's the same thing with e-bikes now , or snowboards back in the 90's....... If you're an asshole in general, you're gonna be an asshole on a e-bike/snowboard/strava leaderboard/etc.

I could be wrong. I could also be the asshole I guess.

I like poaching really dumb KOMs from my betters, but those segments are becoming harder to find at this point.

I agree (not with the part where you're the asshole). They were likely like that before Strava. Still, Strava provides encouragement to some people to act like jerks, even if they are only competing against themselves.
