Hartshorne/Huber Conditions

Today will be great.

Go hit Huber up. Some trail reroutes were done on valley view. Tell us how you like them.
What @knobbyhead said. Area in red is what was rerouted. We still have more work, we'll be back Monday from 9am-12pm if anyone is interested in volunteering and giving back.

Great shape overall, some minor washes from the recent rains. Tree down on Rocky point where the trail levels out after coming down from the elbow. You gotta squeeze under it.

Really enjoying the re-routes at Huber. The earlier one from a couple months ago is bedding in nicely now and is firming up, its very fun to ride in both directions.

Came across the new re-route on Valley View down hill/uphill trail this weekend, and its so much better than before. I looped it going downhill into the other re-route, was a great stretch.
Thanks for all the work erryone!

We're glad you enjoyed the new work, we go through a rigorous process to make sure we get it right, and if it ain't right we blame @knobbyhead .

We wrapped this up today, we're off next week but we'll be back on Monday 8/21 from 9am-12pm at Hartshorne. Hit me up if you can join us, don't cost nothin and you'll be giving back to the mtb community.

Beside knobby missing, Don and Roland are missing from this Pic as well.
Brian M, Andrew, Ken, Chris C, Beach Boy Brian.

Good Morning! Just got back form Hartshorne - trails are great, two trees down from last night's wind on Cuesta Ridge and Laurel Ridge. Have to climb over both.

Played hooky today and had a late morning leaf-surfing session in both parks.

I rode Laurel Ridge in both directions and enjoyed the rework/reroute on the backside climb. Big thanks to @pooriggy , @don , @knobbyhead , and all who’ve put in the work.

Also encountered my old friend @MMuller , which always puts a smile on my face.
Hooky? I thought you retired! I'm just unemployed....See you next time. Hey, when did they make Hartshorne so much steeper?

First and foremost, this forum should be moved to the south jersey section.

Checking my strava, the last time I visited was with @Roadie a little over 9 years ago.
I live in Branchburg, and Jungle is about the same distance..go figure.
That said, this is the perfect time of year to pick Harts.
While it was in the 20s up north, it was around 50 at 9am.
BONUS!

@knobbyhead gave me the proper tour.
Trails are in great shape - so much different than I remember.

Big thank you to @pooriggy - his leadership, vision, and hard work are on display with trails that have been repaired, rerouted, or are new.
I know that many have had a hand in the transformation, yet it takes a someone to advocate to get things done.
While it is your "job", you've elevated it to a much higher level.

Nhu?

Thanks @Patrick. I love what I do. I need volunteers to do what I do.

Please volunteer where you ride. It makes trails better for everyone.

@don has been a big part of the improvements at Hartshorne, he has a good eye for it and the skills to build.

Thanks to the regulars, @knobbyhead , @smann , @ChrisRNC , Brian M, Beachboy Brian, Andrew, Roland, Steve.
