But when we lose the grid you are stuck with a 55# mountain bike
Silly that's why I still have amish bikes, you on the other hand will need windmills and solar panels to work go to the store. Me just add some home heating oil and I'm good to go 😄

Amish bike? Don’t look very good for log crossings or riding rock fields.

My demands haven’t changed…

33.9 lbs • 85nm • 150/160 travel • $5,999, with a range of ~50 miles.

Call me when that’s available. 😎
your looking at it wrong.....but you won't know that till you have one. I loved my lightweight bikes. I had a Mojo 3 that was right around 27 lbs with pedals. When I started comparing that to my Orbea Rise @ 47 lbs I started realizing how much less stable the light bike was on downhills. I was killing it on the Ebike while the Mojo was bouncing all over the place by comparison. The weight penalty has been replaced with assist. I have zero problem having fun on downhill. in fact I'm more reckless now than ever (perhaps not a good thing lol) but I feel stable as hell. Keep praying for the ultimate lightweight ebike unicorn. Meanwhile your missing out on how freeing it feels to not give a shit how many grams my grips are anymore lol.

E-bike on Rt78? I get scared driving on it. This should generate some more e-bike regulation discussion

That article is confusing. It reads like he may have been going the wrong way on the on-ramp and got hit.

Also, I wonder what kind of E-Bike it was. Doubt it was some Turbo Levo. Bike delivery conversion? Suron? IE, it may have been more motorcycle than pedal bike.

Very confusing. Image pasted in my post is what popped up when Googling Zugo e-bike.

Sad. The article does mention the regulations and even includes a link to state law. "E-bikes are not permitted on New Jersey interstates, four-lane highways divided by a grass or concrete median and highways with a speed limit over 50 mph, according to New Jersey law."

By strict definition, a Turbo Levbo is a pedalec. Requires pedal assist to go. Definition of an "e-bike" is it can be ridden without pedal assist (throttle). This distinction is almost never mentioned and leads to even more confusion.
