My neighbor has full Christmas decorations, lights, tree and all lighted all year round. He started switching them off after midnight-ish only a couple of years ago…Agreed, it's because of people like this, that I can't buy chlorine stabilizer for my pool in July but can buy a 50' blow up Santa! /Rant
This is what we ended up with.I ran this by my wife, but got shut down.

Since we're all showing our cooking appliance layout. This is ours. GE Cafe gas oven with convection. Replaced the cooling fan 1x and a burner that warped from many uses. Top is a dirty mess because we cook a lot. Backsplash too, but can't see it's dirty. This is what we ended up with.
The range originally was going to be against the wall and we tiled the whole backsplash behind it but then she saw the SS backsplash /warming tray combo option and that was that.
The section above the range hood is custom made since the hood kit didn’t come with any kind of transition piece so that was just more money I had to burn.
And for the record Viking stuff sucks balls that oven and stove have been repaired so many times I lost count. And somewhere in the DIY thread I showed how I replaced the range hood fan myself a year or so ago for the 2nd time since 2006.

This setup is not uncommon in Asia were people having 150 sqft apartments.
Glad to see the fancy 'commercial' appliances don't seem to be worth it. We ordered all LG stuff. I like to cook and I am sure it will work just fine.
holy crap what's the chances you have my identical setup including the backsplash/shelf!Can confirm. I've seemingly replaced most of of the electronics on my stupid range. Burner igniters that don't work, burner igniters that stay on after the burner is lit, broiler doesn't light, only one side of the oven burners lights. Range hood design is ridiculous with the filters really awkward to remove and reinstall. I do pretty routine cleanings of the entire thing and I still have grease collecting on (and in!) the lightbulb over the burner that gets used the most, so that has to be wiped down literally every time I cook. I guess at least it looks reasonably nice.
