I’ve heard a lot of negative or not so positive reviews on that bike. The rear shock seems to be really difficult to dial in. I’m sure they’re going to revise it. Having most of the factory team racing uci World Cups on Evos was a bad look and I’m sure their marketing was pissed.
Especially when the Trek team was not having this. (Except for when Jolanda Neff raced a top fuel but that was only one race I think, and she didn’t do great).
I think 120 front and 100/120 in the rear will be the standard XC setup for the time being. Until someone makes a really light and efficient 130/120 bike.
I love that it's 2 xIt’s why I ended up buying something else and will demo a WC or whatever MTB is cool next year when I trade in my Aethos.
I bought this because I’m old now, and I couldn’t imagine a bike more designed for what I do. They made the SL8 compatible with a 40c tire as well so this will be a blast around Bedminster and the gravel around these parts where the STR is a bit much.
Happy Birthday to me.

Made the typical mods for my fit. 100mm stem, 42cm bar, Mirror saddle. Also swapped the tires to the only things I’ve had hold up for me this year, 32c Endurance + Gravel Kings. I have to put my cages and stuff on it still.
Standard road bike. Right?I love that it's 2 x
And the color reminds me of your Kelly mtb, if my memory is still working correctly.

Yeah. I'm a big fan of 2x on road and gravel.Standard road bike. Right?

I can fit a 45 on the Cannondale . But it has that weird AI offset and a wide BB42 and up the front derailleur will rub the tire unless you widen the crank or lengthen the chainstay. Both options suck which is why everything is 1x. Or the worst option is to slap a 650 wheel on a 2x. Basically if you want the bike to ride good, you’ll have to not have the right gear at some point.
man, im totally in on the 1x on the road for non-racing situations42 and up the front derailleur will rub the tire unless you widen the crank or lengthen the chainstay. i have my all road bike setup 46t up front, 10-44 in the back and i love it. 46/10 is certainly fast enough (37mph at 100rpm) and 46/44 = 34/32, so i can climb anything i would have better than my regular road setup. or maybe im just not that sensitive to cadence changes?
Correct. I won't say that was like 75% of the decision, but it was 🤣
