Is strava going from suck to blow?

It's possible that this isn't totally new, but the web interface now seemingly has some nice stuff within the map view, including display of global/personal heatmaps and some filtering of segments based on road type, duration, and elevation. I was trying to find appropriate roads to do some intervals so this is actually pretty useful.
here's a few of my go to spots for flat road intervals within a reasonable riding distance from you/me:

Berkshire Valley Road in Kenvil. You can extend it and continue where it turns into West Dewey Ave and then I usually turn off onto West Central Ave for a short cool down before I turn around and go back the other way. Mid day traffic is manageable and it has a wide enough shoulder.

Emmans Road (starts right near Ashley Farm) - theres a few segments on here but the one I like the best is after the train tracks heading towards 10/46 (2nd link). the 2nd segment is kinda downhillish on the way out and a false flat on the way back. also the pavement is butter smooth since they repaved it a few years ago.

finally getting with the program and adding Dark mode among other things.

My eyeballs are already burned out tho since I spent too much time on Strava anyway..

over on instagram they had the CEO reading all the bad comments on a short video in the spirit of "celebrities reading mean tweets"

I've paid for Strava for the last few months to confirm they do indeed overwrite data. Unfortunately there isn't a great alternative that allows for multiple bikes and head units to all go to the same place. Plus I've been going back and forth as a car took several of my Swamp KOMs and they claim it's real. The KOM is at 47mph 🤣

I got a 25% off promo code asking me to renew. I’m not gonna use it.

Thank you, it worked for renewal. The main reason I stay subscribed is for ease of sharing our NICA courses and the fee increase had me a bit emo.

It appears he forgot to turn his Strava off until he got home. Or maybe it’s a glitch- top speed???? I can’t say for sure, but I suspect that he was riding his ebike at Ringwood that day not his acoustic bike based on his Ringwood speeds

Every time I see this post it makes me wonder why I still try and think of creative ride titles

I notice. But I admit it gets harder and harder each week. I so often want to throw out the "Triple B" but like maybe, maybe 1 person (you) will see it and appreciate it.

More often than not I come up with a clever ride title on the bike only to forget it when I get home.

its just me and you, fighting the good fight...

(2) Things

Every time I read the title of this post, I read it as, Strava has gone from suck to blow.

I think of catchy ride names, but never remember them when it uploads.

It does really seem sad though when you see someone's ride and it's "Afternoon Ride". Like there's no way they had fun if it's the basic name.

Strava should at least change the name based on starting location or something.

Ah, kids these days...so sensitive they get upset by the basic name given to their ride and yet too lazy to change it... 😁
