What have you done to your bike today?

Ordered some custom fork stickers from Stikrd in Enve yellow to match the Enve handlebar stickers and the I.F. Crowns on the seat tube and stays awhile ago. Finally got around to putting them on.

Picked up a base model 2024 BoXXer for cheap off Facebook. Installed the Charger 3 RC2 damper with buttercups in both legs, turning it into a BoXXer Ultimate. Saved about $600 over buying new. Added custom decals to match. New stem and bars because why not. 😎

I'm finally buying a star nut tool for...reasons. I have not previously due to sheer stubbornness but I'm getting too old for this crap.

Side note, my Hackstar (tm) Handlebar Holder Deluxe 3000 worked as intended.

I've had a star-nut installation tool for about 30 years... A Park TNS-1. It was one of the first bike-specific tools I bought, and I've lost track of how many star-nuts I've installed over the years. That said, some of the newer style tools with the alignment sleeve would be nice as getting the star nut to go in straight with a TNS-1 takes some practice.

When you get a Park Crown Race Removal tool, you'll know you've jumped into the deep end of the tool-junky pool...

Yeah, I’ve got stuff in the drawer that I look at now and wonder what it was for.

For me, that is all of the odd freehub removal tools I've bought over the last 40+ years.

Next is the ever-expanding collection of bottom bracket tools. It seems like every time I build a new bike I end up having to buy a new BB tool... it's maddening... I can only imagine how many different ones a real shop has...

Of course, my bike tools don't even come close to the number of weird special-use tools I have for working on cars...

Yeah those are super fun. $164.00 for something I'll use twice? Sign me up!

New tires, grips, pedals, derailleur/shifter/chain for my daughters XC race bike. Her old derailleur/shifter/chain and tire on my "wanna be XC" bike. I have deemed myself old, slow and less important so I run a lot of leftover parts now

Played Musical pedals with a bunch of her other bikes to get her BMX race bikes ready for the season. XC and BMX race seasons are about to be ON!

So cool that’s she’s that deep into it with you !

Got the gravel bars and shifters today, did a dry run fitting on the Sirrus to see if this is conversion from flat bar to drop bar is gonna work; low key confident. Derailleur is coming tomorrow, so I should have this all together by the weekend. Random, the R shifter came with a road hood cover, so I'm waiting on 365cycle to respond to that. Weird.

Seal installers are a must-have if you plan to do fork servicing. Somehow I ended up with two 40mm versions for my old Monster T forks.

I have an entire box of special tools for servicing my late model (27.5") Dorado... and have a few of the tools for my Fox 34. I'll probably end up with some for my ZEB as well.

For a few seasons now I have been struggling with climbing and slightly with flat pedaling because my butt would be only 3/4 on the seat. I moved my seat back as far as I could…

I was using 15mm of stem spacers and a 20mm rise OneUp bar which is perfect height for my back.

Found this article on Pinkbike about stem stack vs handlebar rise and how it lengthens reach which seemed to be my issue.

Hesitantly I purchased the 35 rise OneUp bar (phenomenal aluminum bar FYI) added a 42mm stem (40mm stock) in which I am using no stem spacers.

Feels great! The extra few mm made a significant difference, much more that I thought to be honest. And I have a touch more weight on the front end keeping it sturdy in the technical climbs.

Should have done it sooner…it just sinks because it wasn’t cost effective.

Anyone know the deal with SRAM banjos? I'm trying to find the right one for Rival hydro brakes and not sure which one. The banjo is in the lever in my version. I think it's the beveled but Rival11 isn't mentioned and I know there's also a caliper banjoed version. I miss the simplicity of MTB brakes...

Installed my new xt shifter. There was much rejoicing. Happy to have my multi release back but even happier i got the ispec vs clamp mount coin toss correct. I really needed it moved outboard. Between it moving over and the longer paddles on the shimano it is perfect for me now. New take off gx will be for sale shortly.
