Chain Wax Discussion thread

Going to give this a try after I run through the Silca stuff next year

I use the UFO drip all the time. It’s thicker than silica so it seems easier to use.

How many chains are you waxing? I can’t imagine I’ll need another bag of wax for like 5 years!

I've been using the same bag for around 3 years, and I would estimate it'll last me 3-5 more. I'll change waxes because I get bored and want to try something new long before I run out of wax.

Gonna see if I can get some wax to stick to this disaster. Step 1 brakleen, before and after pics

hmmm? Do I need the Silca crock pot? I have a $9 thrift store Crock Pot that I've been using. It does take some time to melt. Not sure about the temp when I dip it. When it starts to skin over, I pull the chain and let it drip dry.

So what's better for initial chain cleaning for someone who is chain wax curious? using a strip chip or throwing the chain in an ultra sonic cleaner if you already have one and have used it with great results to clean chains in the past.
