I don't think there r blazes on the social trail but it's a short trail that's quite easy to follow.I know you guys said the State Line Trail goes to the border of New Jersey and New York and that there is a social trail across the street from there but does that social trail also have trail blazes? I’m asking because I’ve never been on that trail.
Taken care of. Trying to catch up. Slowly.A few trees down on Red (Ringwood/Ramapo) trail. Two small/med size, located between Spruce Place and the High Mountain Brook. Another very large tree further up red and past the switchbacks. That one has been there for over a year and completely blocks the trail. The GPS for that tree is approximately 41.089073, -74.239930.
I want to add that that trail wasn't too bad due to the extremely dry general conditions, even though we had some rain on Saturday. Nevertheless, the bottom of the downhill coming from TOS could definitely use some love. @pixychick armoring that swamp would require to file some paperwork with the park or is something that could be executed by some good willing volunteer (whoever that maybe)?Taken care of. If it is the section on Red by the stream, Some armoring in spots might help, but the stream can not be blocked with rock. There mist be openings to allow water through or over. If trail is not moved, you are fine to repair.I want to add that that trail wasn't too bad due to the extremely dry general conditions, even though we had some rain on Saturday. How about a wooden bridge/bridges? Would that be pushing it too far?If it is the section on Red by the stream, Some armoring in spots might help, but the stream can not be blocked with rock. There mist be openings to allow water through or over. If trail is not moved, you are fine to repair.
Wood?!? Someone might slip on the wood and then sue the state, county, park, lumber store, nail manufacturer and eventually... you.How about a wooden bridge/bridges? Would that be pushing it too far?
Have u ridden in Ringwood? There r at least 7 wooden bridges already in Ringwood doing a fine jobWood?!? Someone might slip on the wood and then sue the state, county, park, lumber store, nail manufacturer and eventually... you.
Yes. It’s called sarcasm.Have u ridden in Ringwood? There r at least 7 wooden bridges already in Ringwood doing a fine job
I guess it's back to stone bridge then...Yes. It’s called sarcasm.
Very difficult to get approval for bridges and other wooden structures. Liability is one of the many reasons.
I didn't ride them yet but I walked the dog on the lower fireroads around Ryerson and found the snow surprisingly still very soft, even where already compacted by the snowmobiles, which is weird given the temperature. Or maybe I'm too heavy...Ringwood is in excellent shape on the fireroads. Lots of snowmobile tracks that are firm. We did about 11 miles today and there were more sections available that we didn’t have time for. No studs needed but fatbike recommended. When you get off line you need the float to get back on track.

Ah yes. We found a short section right near Ryerson that is soft and booted up. See blue circle. Everything else on our loop other than that was 💯 👍I didn't ride them yet but I walked the dog on the lower fireroads around Ryerson and found the snow surprisingly still very soft, even where already compacted by the snowmobiles, which is weird given the temperature. Yep, that's the section I walked. Did you notice if the snowmobiles have gone up the pipeline, I guess not since form your Strava looks kike you stopped just short of it? When they do the downhill gets pretty exiting on a fat bike.Ah yes. We found a short section right near Ryerson that is soft and booted up. See blue circle.
