Biscotti Madness

Your chart looks suspiciously like the one from yesterday.

Edit: Not sure if you just fixed it but it was flipping out a few seconds ago with those graphs 😛

I link it directly from MB, which gets weird. Sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't. When I looked at the thread the chart from yesterday does not show. Today's shows right. If I cared I would download the pic and upload it here. Meh, sounds too much like work 😀

Endurance ride today:
http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/8424618

Almost 4 hours in the saddle. Today's aim was to keep it in the tempo/endurance range just to get some good saddle time in. I didn't press at all to keep it in tempo. I just wanted to stay out of the upper HR areas and I did a good job at that, though putting together a route without a lot of climbing is just impossible.

HRM

Set the HRM at a wide value range today, low L2 through high L3, 93-150. I was able to stay there almost the whole ride, just a few climbs were impossible to keep. In all I was in zone for 3:40. Average HR was 129, which is just at the top of the L2/Endurance area. Given the last 2 days I didn't want to press it too hard and I ended up at a good spot.

Rain

It was pouring again when I woke up, but screw it. I find that this is how the inner monologue tends to go:

"These are the days champions are made."

"Or colds."

"There's a fine line between dedication and stupidity."

"I wish I had arm warmers."

Eventually it stopped raining. Then it started again the last hour I was out there.

Tomorrow

Something light, I have a pain day scheduled for Saturday with some of my teammates. Bill suggested we all throw in a few bucks and whoever vomits first takes the cash. Maybe not a bad idea.

I think it should be he who vomits last wins. Otherwise, I'll stick a tire lever in my throat to induce vomiting and win.

Active Recovery Friday:

Almost exactly an hour through the swamp, very light. Average HR was 114 which actually places this ride smack dab in the middle of L2/Endurance. No matter, it was light enough that tomorrow I should be fresh enough, even if I have ridden a lot this week. I set the upper limit at 140 and did not go over that. I think I stayed under 130 the whole ride.

705

I pulled the trigger on a 705 this morning. I just get caught up in consummerism sometimes. We've decided to buy iPhones next week, and last night I bought a PC. Today I bought a 705. Sunday we're going to Lancaster for 2 nights just to get out of the stream for a few days. I may buy an Amish farmer because I can't help myself.

Rain

Today was day #3 out of 4 in the rain. I don't mind it too much but geez this is starting to get old. I wanted to take the MTB out this week but it looks like that will be on hold at least until next Thursday. Not a big deal since I've decided to run the gears for Stewart since there's a huge flat/fast 1.5 prologue to start. But still I'd like to get out on the dirt occasionally.

Tomorrow

A little school time with Ben, students Bill, Fred, and myself. I think I'm bringing 2 bottles of liquid and 5 gels. Clif bars be damned on this upper-end stuff.

glad to see someone is doing well in this bad economy. Between my spending and yours, we may be able to turn the entire retail sector around ourselves.

Damn you can get that at work but not Flickr? That's blocked for me.

Well working in IT has perks (which I'm about to loose).

The company uses Websense to block sites for the general population. My IT department was in a unique group which gave us extended access. A few months ago the IT department manager flipped a switch and the IT department was blocked as well.

A couple of the the guys in IT saw that as a challenge. They boosted the signal on a wireless router in our lobby so that we could connect to that instead. Then we went into into our computer inventory and took some machines back to our desk for testing. 😉

So for the last couple months I've had two machines on my desk. One for work and one for screwing off. 😀

On Monday, I report to Voorhees and will be among the scum. It's kinda like taking a policeman's badge and throwing him in prison with the Gen Population. 😱

BTW, what drew you to lancaster for a weekend getaway? I guess being from that area, I am biased....

My wife just picked it. We went for an overnight last year. It gets us away (read: me away from the bike) yet it's close enough to be there in 2-ish hours. My parents are going as well and they're in PA so it's an easy place to go for a weekend. They have good pies.

My opinion on the purchases is to do it now, because if I lose my job then I won't be buying anything next year.
