Winter riding stinks around here. The leaves and snow cover all the obstacles and rocks and things. Riding just gets too easy. Might as well get a road bike.

Winter mud is evil stuff....No frost = No fun... I'd take frozen ground any day over cold mud... Better yet, show me a 6 inch frozen base and a little surface grit (aka "Italian Ice"), and I'll show you a slice of heaven... (We had conditions like this for 3 days about 2 years ago where the woods became a virtual concrete wave, with rideable lines everywhere)....
