Spring Silence: Uncoiling the Fat Dragon

I may be up for century. What time you thinking.

I don't know. You know, the weather on the weekend never used to make a difference to me. Suddenly I care again. Looks like a crap weekend. Maybe I'll drink beer instead.

Who knows maybe like 6:00? I need to clear it with ground control first.

That’s a big pothole.Just realized I have not posted...

From the tomb of Jimmy Hoffa:

That’s a big pothole.

Just realized I have not posted today. I’ll just paste what I sent Utah. This is in reference to his boss:

“Fuck the boss. I did my “tt” loop today. Basically I ride out the door and do a loop as fast as I can. With 10 min to go I stop and cool down. Averaged 21.5 for 1:01:30 I think. The goal would be to get that to an hour which would be 22.2 I think. 290 watts I think. In all 1:11 or so.”

I used “I think” too much. I think. Starting to come around on the morning rides. 4:30 comes too early still. I need to expand my TT loop and also eat something. At the end I was spent. I guess that’s the point.

Jake asked me how I was adjusting and I wanted to post it here. But I don’t have time. Maybe tomorrow or this weekend.

Back to the garbage can. The liner in your garbage can at work is changed every night. In the morning you dump your whole coffee in by mistake. You realize the liner doesn’t leak. Do you pour the coffee back into the cup? Keep in mind the large coffee the other day cost $2.72.

That is a hell no. You have no idea if the bag was changed or if it just looked like it was changed or just looks "clean". I wouldn't trust the cleaning people in my office with anything.

Gotta draw the line. Solids - I'll pick something up off the floor, out of a garbage can or off the table and eat it. Liquids - too much co-mingling, very high atomic contact. The only thing I'll ever re-cycle in a liquid is if I spill my martini; some of that vodka is expensive yo.

i'm with bill...and that scientific atomic contact thing he said. same with the vodka...but it will kill most of what it touches anyway.

if i dropped my coffee IN the cup in there, yeah, i pull it out and drink it. not even a second thought.

How about a big glob of cream cheese that dropped from your bagel onto the office carpet, which hasn't been vacuumed in years?

My old boss swiped it up with his finger and shoved it into his pie hole without a moment's hesitation.

I thought that my garbage bag liners were changed every night, and then I started chewing gum at work. There are currently eight pieces of gum stuck to the sides of my garbage bag, and I haven't had gum in a few days...

Jake I'm disappointed in you. I thought you were my go-to guy here. Truth is that a post-it note that I threw away yesterday was on the bag this morning which led me to this thought. But I was too vague.

Suppose you know with absolute certainty that the bag was changed and still clean - say you bought and installed the bag yourself. Does your answer change?

If not, suppose now you have no more money and were up all night with a vomiting child and got 2 hours of sleep?

I'll be honest, that coffee is coming out of the trash for me. With a big shit-eating grin.

In the case of the cream cheese, I couldn't eat it if it touched the floor at work. At home I might save it and trim off the part that touched the floor but it would have to be a large blob to make it worth it.
