My Hovercraft is Full of Podcasts

That's what happens when I bring beers.

Yeah, and that was a mere 2.

Interesting on the round table comments from stb. The feedback I got was pretty much "the round tables are great, makes your ridecasts SaD in comparison."

These are waning. Likely going to pare down to 1-2 a week. WTF is there to talk about this much? I'm inevitably going to get myself in trouble one of these days when you add beer and an audio recording device.

I was all set to listen during my lunch...and the page froze...darn school internet! Pffff.

I will fast forward and try it again. Maybe the start up is what is getting me, kinda like I always fast forward through the wolfman jack stuff. Could be the down time too between talking. When it is just you, you talk non stop. In what I listened too of this one, there was at least a few mintues of nothing going on.

as I recall, norm hit start right before we began eating dinner...which is one of the few times that I dont talk constantly

Ok tried again, didn't last long. For whatever reason just doesn't appeal to me. It is odd listening to a conversation you aren't a part of. Not being negative, just ain't my thing.

Are you crazy? The wolfman jack part is the best. In fact I think the round table thing would be way better if everyone had to speak in their WJ voice for the whole thing or at least the mandatory 5 minutes.

must be, maybe I just don't get it. I jump til after it stops every time. Now that I said I don't like it, I expect a full podcast of that.

haven't listened yet, but...

that would be funny as hell.. or everyone should get their own 'personality' to imitate... life's about laughs people - yuck it up...

I don't really get the the whole podcast thing either. Personally my listening time is with music. I would imagine no more then 5 of the boys club are listening. I like words but not graphs and calculations. I tried to listen to first or second one but with all the snotting and spitting I was like meh. I think Norm has wonderful talent as a writer bit understand his time crunching. Sorry not a fan of podcast.

Best I can tell there are about 30 listeners, but with the newer versions I don't have any reliable way to say. There really aren't many more that read regularly. Ideally I'll do both. Seems like some people like X, some Y, some Z. Wish I could get paid to entertain for a living.

Training

I'm using this vacation week to blister myself on the bike as well. From Monday at 4:00 through today (Wednesday) to 3:00, I rode 4 times.

4 rides
133 miles
7 hours
18.8 mph
151 HR
75 average cadence
276w average power
1079 max power

That's a lot. Add a bit less than 4 hours and 200 TSS points on Sat/Sun and that's almost 700 TSS points in 5 days. But the above is in the span of 2 full days. Overloading, for sure.

Today I did a loop that combined the A ride loop with the double hill loop I do - combining both rides I did yesterday. By the end I was cooked. I love food. I earned my food.

Tomorrow I think we're off to the Bronx Zoo. Then peewee practice. Fred and I both agree that the Thursday night group ride was a bit of a force, so we're going to do it on Thursday, May 17th, 2018.

I started juicing today. I'm using the pulp to fill cracks in the sidewalk. And my belly. It was easy enough to just use a food processor and collander. F these $500 machines. I'm going to use a sledgehammer next time.

I listened while to today's while I was making dinner...I have to say, Julia was definitely the star of today's podcast!!!

I think I might use the "I can have whatever I want because I'm hurt" in the future.

That's some nice totals, Vacation is king! Work is overated!!!

"Boone's is in the wine family...."

GNR opened for Aerosmith and Deep Purple at Giants Stadium. If that was the show you were at, you should have said hello!

Funny stuff.

What was up with the RWJ post?

wally drank some bong water

No bongs of any form for me.

I had a bit of a scare and ended up spending about 36 hours in Robert Wood Johnsons cardiac care. I woke up about 2am Sunday morning with pain in my chest like I have never felt. I sat up, walked around, stretched, sat outside, nothing helped. I think I then started to panic because I felt like I wasn't breathing properly. It was then that Nicole called her mom, and when her mom got here Nicole drove me to the ER.

Long story short, it turns out I am perfectly healthy. Actually healthier than I thought I was. After passing every blood test, x ray and whatever else they had me hooked up to with flying colors, I went home. The cardiologist suspects something gastro related, whether it was just crazy indigestion or something else is yet to be determined, I will have to follow up with him to figure that out.

Oddly enough, as I was in the ER at RWJ, Nicoles cousin was taking her husband to Raritan Bay Old Bridge for the same reason. As I was leaving Monday afternoon they were transferring him to RWJ because the folks at RB thought he needed a stint and they felt RWJ was the better place to be. This morning we found out he had a triple by pass. Hes 36 years old.

Anyway, vaca for me has been kinda sucky with the ER and trying to catch up on the 2 days of sleep I lost. Today was the first day I was able to relax. Another free day tomorrow then daddy day care on Friday.

I'm not complaining, at least I am home and breathing.

So much for "long story short".

PS, in all of my years here and all of my super informative postings on our lovely site, this is my first ever successful multi quote. Thundercats, HO!!!
