Today wasn't too bad until it started to snow half way through my ride. Hopefully it stops and the roads are dry for my ride home.
No way for me. I don't have the gear for an overnight low of 14, high of 21.
The tights and leg warmers I have aren't legit enough, I already double them up in the 25-40 range. I need to invest in some better leg gear. I suppose I could wear my rain pants. That would be fine for the commute but not the best for a longer ride. Upper body I could probably get by, though I need some better base layers as well. I'm pretty maxed out on my gear budget at this point, so I'll keep an eye for winter stuff on sale to be more prepared for next year.
My biggest issue is keeping my feet warm, I need to get some winter boots. I have shoe covers but below 30 my feet freeze from the bottom up. It seems like the cold just penetrates through the cleat/sole plates.
In the end I don't need to ride in everyday. I love the bike commute but I don't force it, its good to keep a balance. Wearing a dozen layers of clothes ends up being a huge hassle gettings dressed/undressed, finding places to hang it all during the work day, etc..
I've never doubled up tights, but yesterday was the first time this year I actually needed my Tool jacket. 😀

Long john's, J crew sweater, down jacket. This is commuting right? Not tour de france.

Yep, fixed indeed. Front brake is there because I value my life and $60 Conti tire.
