6 Mile Run Conditions

there is one on the rt 27 side, and the canal lot.
canal lot is towards the house, next to the port-o-potty, rt 27 to the left as you leave the parking lot.
they are not really high viz.

proper location of kiosks is only appropriate yet it seems that 6mile needs relocating. Has this ever been addressed?

People don't look at kiosks, especially at a place like 6mr. At the sourlands the only people I see at the kiosk are newbie hikers looking for a map. I think a large hi vis yellow sign at the trail head is the way to go.

If you put a picture of something interesting they will look, maybe a picture of Tan Mom that says: WARNING or MISSING, then a j/k message and divert attention towards the real issue. I would stop for that.

marketing! attract eyes and the info is instantly broadcasted.
 
Agree signs are better than no signs. But even more important is that language on the signs applies to ALL users. The 6MR signs single out mtb'ers and puts no onus on other users to refrain use when muddy, pick up poop, etc.

If I ever see someone drop a poop filled plastic bag on the ground I will lose it. The whole act just does not make sense. I know it has been posted countless times, but still. It is like crop circles....WTF!!!!

I will say this. When I walk my dog at the local park I do a 3 mile out and back loop. When my dog poops in the 1st !/2 mile I bag it and leave it on the side off on the grass and then pick it up when I head back to the lot. This is the only park I walk her at with the out and back. Is this acceptable??

Maybe that is the disconnect I have: that people are supposed to come back to pick up the refuse. If I was going to pay any attention to remove the feces (I love that word, so happy I got to use it here), I would just fling it (also an awesome phrase with the current subject matter) off the trail with a stick, removing the need to have any contact with the previously said matter.

Since jorba is a huge benefactor for us... What are the possibilities of having signage at every park jorba maintains or has influence in maintaining trails.

We are currently working on having signs made about trail conditions, it was part of an old grant that funding for is finally available again.

I think accommodation for this may be in the grants we get for tools and similar equipment, but will defer to @KenS for a more precise answer.
