You could rent a seeder. Not sure of Costco seed quality but Agway is usually good.around the corner a neighbor has this ridiculously lush lawn which doesn't get watered, I wish I knew what variety they're growing. Is there are a way to tell grass varieties if I get a few samples? I bought 3 large bags from Costco of some Pennington stuff, I usually order online from Agway for reseeding, but this summer has just gotten away from me, since my ZTR is still out of commission. Typically use the dethatcher and aerate to get the seeds worked in, but the manual method is where I'll need to go this weekend.
think you mean this, just saved me hours of work, thanksYou could rent a seeder. Not sure of Costco seed quality but Agway is usually good.
Yes. Also if the ground is rock hard due to no rain fall you may have to put a sprinkler out to soften ground a bit so the seeder can penetrate the soil. It the ground is like concrete the machine will just ride on top of soil.do you mow to a lower setting b4 overseeding?
I swear it grows like 5 inches a day.
Yes , there are plant growth regulators but unless you have an accurate means to apply it and know how to calibrate a sprayer / spreader I would not recommend using them.
Capers, your property must have been farmland at one point...it's so damn fertile.
I have suggested before that you seed part of your lawn to native varieties of grass and wild flowers. This will eliminate the area you have to mow and attract cool birds as well as provide focal interest...assuming you are into the native species thing. It was farmland. The Farm behind me once owned mine and my neighbor's lots many moons ago.

I am doing this next year on the slopes where I'm push mowing anyway, tried a test area this year and the spouse was pleased, so its a go next yearI have suggested before that you seed part of your lawn to native varieties of grass and wild flowers.
