String trimmer technique question
I have a "rise" from the road to the level of my law - it varies from 0' to 2', over approximately 150'
Too steep for riding, and not conducive to push mowing, as it is not flat, and standing above a push mower isn't recommended.
I've been doing it with the string trimmer, but like my head, when i'm done, there are a bunch of bald spots.
the three ways i've been doing it are
- keep the trimmer head horizontal, and work up the hill, this seems easy, but inefficient, as it only works on the uphill stroke
- follow the contour with the trimmer head, working up and down - more efficient, but scalping quite a bit.
- follow contour, walk forward, with rows from the bottom up (simulate push mower) - i have to walk with my back to traffic if
i do this, not ideal. it does seem to work, and i get more exercise.
