After the soggy year we just had, putting in more TM hours. Joining more group rides (I've had to work most of them unfortunately). Traveling to ride more places outside of the immediate region.
The biggest one for me is riding for experiences (see group rides above) and less for the sake of just riding. I've gotten in the habit of riding the same trails in the usual parks and after a while it becomes monotonous (although still fun), but switching up the ride direction can sometimes change up the whole experience of the ride. I even took the gravel bike in the fire roads in Ringwood, which to me can be a boring slog on a mountain bike, but a drop bar on skinnier tires changed the whole park for me and made it fun to hit those roads when the trails were too wet to ride. On those too wet to ride days I hope to have put together various routes based on NYNJTC maps and other map sources for some fun alternative rides on double track / fire roads.
