Biking New Years resolutions

???you haven’t seen the commercial enough....the original had some woman say “the big hurt? More like the big hunk! I wish my husband looked like that.” I was balling??

I guess thier marketing department is winning

Now that you mentioned it I did see it! My bad!

I had to look to see what they are actually hawking - vitamin supplement with herbal extracts that are claimed to be "testosterone boosting". I'm guessing the only thing getting boosted is the fat guy's wallet!

Looking back at 2018, a lot has changed now that i have a child. It's gotten way harder to get out for a ride but i need to figure out a way to increase my current average to more than once a month. My physical and mental health demand it, so:

1. Ride on average twice per month.
2. Ride after the kid goes to bed instead of being a couch potato.
3. Utilize wifey's new Flywheel spin bike to keep me in some kind of riding shape.
4. Get out on my DH bike at least once this year.
5. Clean Chunky Monkey at Sourlands, no dabs.

maybe i should throw this out there since it came to me last night, id like to get back down to the 155-160lb range . . . (not directly bike related, but will definitely make a difference in my riding)
how tall are you? I've ballooned to 165ish, but 155 is not hard for me to attain. My goal is 150 but that takes all the fun out of eating and a few beers from time to time.

unless you have a very understanding spouse, you'll need to start running and adding in other fitness routines. I was golfing before I had kids, and a casual roadie. I found running for 30 mins was all I needed to get back to a good mental state after the kids went down. Damn that was over 15 years ago, time flies, enjoy it.

Haha I knew you were fat! ?

Seriously, why don't you start a blog?

yup, 168 last week, wouldnt mind losing 10 lbs . . . i guess this is the time of year to do it.

a blog is too much work, plus i dont have a clever title for it.

~5'10 i was 155 june of 2016, so its attainable, just need to focus a little bit to get there and stay there.

I have a few that are simple and relatively easy to achieve.

1. Getting back to one gear riding.
2. Doing some overnight bikepacking trips.
3. Riding new parks outside of NJ.
4. Get a 50+ mile 4 parker in.
5, Helping more with either solo or organized TMs

Looking forward to making these a reality.
How is the gravel bike quest coming along?? Hint hint!! 🙂

So the easiest way I found when in this situation was to ride early like very early and be back before everyone wakes up. Used to have group rides at 5am and you be surprised how many people would show up just because they were in same boat.

Lots of goals.... I went through a lot of personal, work related, financial, mechanical issues this year and the stress really effected my motivation and thus my fitness. I guess the main goal for '19 is to get back into XC shape, do a few H2H races, and I really want to try an enduro race.
