I got so lucky out here, just wish my legs could hold up better. Took my son and his buddy out here, we stayed at the canyons right next to the gondola. We got here about 11:30 Sat nite. We had a great day Sunday, the snow conditions were awesome, but no powder to speak of. It snowed all Sunday night, we had a few runs of completely untracked, AMAZING! Then it just kept snowing, yesterday it was mid thigh deep, just incredible.

if you’ve never been to Utah, do it now! Best start of the season in 12 years. Mid-February conditions right now.
You dog! Jelly. 🤙

Seriously sounds amazing. When you ski your legs into the ground you’re in a great spot.

Who's getting out this weekend? Extended forecast is looking positive for the NE ski areas.
No plans to get out until weekend of 1/6 but maybe a I'll get a day trip in.
Probably try Belleayre tomorrow, though Gore looks like it might do better. With the possibility of wind holds I'd rather not drive that far.

Booked Breckenridge for a week in early April with the family. Will be my 5yo's first time in ski school (unless we get somewhere local before then). He's done point and shoot with us catching him at the bottom in our backyard the past 2 winters though so he'll be fine lol

Great time to ski, longer daylight, full snowpack, and always the chance of that powder storm. Good luck.

my colleague/neighbor bought a home very close to Belleayre. She said I can go anytime. Let's see if there's truth to that.

Few more slopes open today. Kids had a great day again. They are getting better every time we head out.

Last night time got away from me and I decided to start waxing the boards way too late. I didn’t realize how late it was. Completely forgot to lay down an old sheet. I made a mess.

I threw in the towel when I finally got around to my son’s snowboard. It was too late to even think of starting. So I dug around and found a can of this stuff which I have in my stash of crap:

All I can say is go buy a can now. I swabbed it on my sons board in the parking lot this morning and it was a success. Very slick stuff and worked in the morning to afternoon temps. No clumps sticking to the wax at all. Highly recommend it if you’re in a pinch and have neglected your bases or just couldn’t get around to a fresh hot wax.

We have an Ikon pass and just planned this exact trip for Jan 25-29, staying in Frisco CO.
I’ll be a little west of you at Beaver Creek, I hope you get a ton of fresh snow!!!

Start doing those ski exercises now!

in Utah, there are selling canisters of 02 at the grocery stores, I wonder if they have them in CO. I’d need that in fresco, it’s so high. I don’t know why, but the elevation in CO, hits me a little harder than Utah.

They have the O2 canisters everywhere in CO. We always get some at a grocery store in Denver before we head over the pass, as well as travel with a small humidifier for the bedroom which helps immensely!
