6 Mile Run Conditions

Was there this morning. same as clarkstein said, there was a new tree down right before the first new notched tree \_/ obstacle coming from canal on blue. It laid diagonal across the trail. New blue reroute is awesome. Got out before it turned to mush.

Thanks..

Saw that log this morning.

Might not get at it for a few days.

looks like the tubes under the concrete bridge clogged, and the approach from the pond side washed out. someone put a couple logs and a tire/rim to bridge the mud.

If anyone is out the, clearing the culverts would be awesome.

I didnt notice anything wrong there. Its a little muddy but a lot of water came through there the other day. Nothing looked like it was washed out. Once the water goes down it should be good.

Were the pipes actually clogged? It didnt look like it but I didnt stick my head over the edge to see.

I would say with the temp forcast to be below freezing all night, should be good for early morning. Im planning on going out for 8am. Others welcome. No stops. Intermediate pace.

no go for few days... the trail are too wed and were not completely frozen at 6am. the concrete bridge is under water.

What Alex said! The park needs way more than 12 hours of sub freezing temperature or, as others have noted, you will only get some surface crust with a gooey center...

the canal rd/millstone river road bridge has been flooded since 430pm yesterday. thats usually a bad sign for this place.

Had a great time riding in the snow today. my bike.jpg

did a canal side loop today, on the trails by 8:15 - there were soft spots, but more peanut butter than slop, couple puddles in the worst spots, but they were ridable, because the area around them was frozen.. 1-2" of snow on exposed trails, just a dusting on protected.

well worth the trip the next couple of mornings...

Was out in the snow. Got there just about 10am, and was out at 1pm. The sloppy spots were increasing as I was on my way back. Today was the most fun I've had at 6MR in a while. The snow made it a good time.

After temps in the 20s last night, 6Mile was perfect this morning from 9-11. A thin crunchy packed layer of snow over most of it with a couple icy spots and a couple bare spots. Right at 11 on our way out the sun was just starting to soften the top layer. It was my first time here since Sandy and hats off to Jdog and crew for all the reroutes and changes!

Almost forgot; there is 1 elevated tree across the "non-sanctioned" red trail right before the canal road dump out. Not even a big one, can probably be taken out with a hand saw but you have to dismount as it is.
