Anyone riding e Jungle H. Before the Race on 19th

I'm planning for Wed at 6 or 7am if anyone is into that type of thing. Ride 2hrs, 1 loop at race pace, maybe throw in Warthog TT. Will try to get a clean race loop GPS if I can figure it out.

Ill be there. Would like to be out of there by 930, I can get there 6 or 7 let me know. Thinking 2 laps, first slower second faster.

I'm planning to be there around 5pm. I know the place but don't know race course.

Great. I got the race course on my GPS, although the one time I tried to use it to follow a course it was useless. In any case, I'll be happy with just going there and ride the place.

I'll be at the airport parking lot by 5pm. Grey Cannondale lefty.

Thinking of riding at 1 pm tomorrow, Wednesday. Any maps of the course yet? Don't have GPS. Raced 2 years ago and rode with Panhead and a great group of locals a few weeks ago so should be able to find my way around either way. Anyone riding around 1 tomorrow let me know. thanks

It's kind of ghetto map, so I'm gonna print out the new map and trace the course with a highligter or something.

Does anyone have a gps link to the race course? I'm shootin for 5:30 Wednesday night if anyone wants to ride along

I left my "accessories" bag in my garage so no GPS, sorry 🙁 We used the map for the most part and I think we got most of it right. I'm sure we got 99-100% of it right starting at Otter Slide. The beginning is confusing, but I think we got it more or less.

For RobX2 and PoorIggy's reference, I'll post more on my thread later on the sections in the beginning that we didn't do right. It's just little things here and there, I think.

RNG1 should have the GPS track of what we did.

funny cause I got the beginning per norms directions but was flanked by them at the top before goat. Stopped at TC when we left and found out you jump on the quad trail midway after the tanks beyond otterslide. Thursday eveing the course will be marked I was told...

Friday pre ride at 10am

you guys with those gps things might as well wait for them to mark the course or use Soundz's map because those things don't work at jungle for some reason.
Jimmy i did another lap(- the shit stop) after you guys left and it felt right...if that means anything.
My assessment of the course is that is does not have as many tech sections as Blue and less elevation which makes it somewhat easier. The course is actually a fun loop but like any race the loop can put a hurting on you at race pace and the tech sections that are cleared with buddies at a relaxed pace can spank you come race day.

Iggy I find it to be more challenging then blue, blue flowed together well where as jungle can throw you off your game. Goat for example can either destroy you or your bike if your not careful only to have to push whats left of you up animal chute. Yeah 1st third mellow last two thirds a beating.

Semi interesting scorecard today;
1 endo
1 torn tire
1 bathroom incident
1 bar end torn off by tree
1 lost toenail

Oh and here is the gps for the "2nd lap" we did. This is posted for humor reasons only and should not be used for any actual navigating. I think Iggy said it right in calling this place the bermuda triangle of the gps world. The only thing useful in this link is that on the upper right it looks like an antelope having sex with an elephant which is pretty fitting for Jungle Habitat.

I prefer 1st 3rd mellow, thats my warm-up😀
The long climb after warthog? will spread the field.
I am assuming goat is the tight somewhat down hill single track with football sized rocks and occasional bolders(last 3rd of course) This section is tough but it seems confined, once past it your free. Blue threw random gnar at you practically the whole course.
Not much fireroads = not much passing. The 1st lap will be more of a cluster until you can scoot past the field for lap 2...than the fun begins. Like Blue this is a course for great bike handlers. Guys who did well at Blue will do well here too.

I believe the 1st loop we did together was more accurate .. if that's exists somewhere.

ha,ha that is b/c Jungle is part of weird NJ, right? 😉

I'm with Matty. The course is a bit more rugged and does not quite flow like Blue. I find that the course only allows me to ride smoothly at a 85% pace, leaving me not so maxed out. Yet full concentration is required. If I push harder, I get sloppy and less efficient. Just my take.

As for goat, I look at the opening not the tress, and then I imagine I am a mass of jello, with relaxed arms and hands slithering down the trail. I can't say this is a scientific method, but it has worked for me up to this point. If I am tense, I can't ride it clean.

I'm with you. This will be more challenging course than Blue. The tightness along with the rocks make it interesting. That & there's no place to pass.

Rode around for 3 hours yesterday. What a great park made by mtn bikers for mtn bikers. Tough to figure out the course around the start and on the opposite side by the lion cages. Thanks to Dave who was chalking the course for straitening me out.

1st 3rd is going to be a blast. From the start of the climb and much thereafter I can see as being tough to race. Barely anyplace to pass (or be passed. Hope I can be as patient with the guy in front of me as I hope the guy behind me will be.) Figure I'll race the sections I can and just keep a good steady pace for the other stuff.

Certainly the locals will have the edge. Nothing down here at the sands of Allaire or the hills of Hartshorne that can prepare for the rocks. But, rock on anyway.
