Book of Paul H

Boy... what a busy day.
Got up 5AM
Went to QC for some coffee
Then to Home Depot to pick up towel bar and a tub drain
Came home installed towel bar and tub drain
Went grocery shopping in Ridgefield... where some fu<ker scratched and dented my car.... nope... no note.
Quick bite to eat in Pal Park.

Then the highlight..... the JUNGLE!! Pretty fun place. It would have been better if I knew how to ride! lol
Sexy legs told me that it was more rocks and less climbing when compared to HM. Sexy legs was right. Pretty tough place for a noob but fun no less.
I had to leave my mark and I broke a tree along the way. Just glad it wasn't the other way around. Curious as to how I would do if the place was dry.
I will be back Jungle.... and it shall be a rumble!
Older I get... the cornier I get.

The Talon got pretty dirty from Jungle and I figured I go out for 1 more ride before giving it a wipe down. I go into the garage and the front tire is flat....
Without giving too much thought, changed the tube and off I go to HM.

Saw 2 different groups of mtbers today at HM. Met a Maggie and David for a short chit chat then saw another group riding in from the parking lot. When I checked starva, Mr Mancuso was in my flyby.

I think next week, I might check out Ringwood again.

Did you adjust the limit screw?
Totally forgot about that... I should play around with that today.
But its a funny bike.... when I ride alone, it hardly derails but when riding with others, it just goes nuts... I think its shy.

Creaks on the Talon.... 2hrs in the garage to figure out that it was a loose bolt on the rear derailleur hanger... argh... at least it was accompanied with good beer @soundz

If by slime you mean the WalMart green slime, don't do it! Lol. Use regular tubeless sealant. I ran ghetto split tube on my hardtail 29er with a split 26" Presta tube, Stan's sealant, and non-tubeless ready Ardents. Worked great while I had it that way.

There was a bike shop near work... picked up 2 bottles of 2oz stan's sealant (they only had the 2oz size) and 20" schrader tube.

Got home, took apart the rear hub and greased the bearings. But I think I f'ed up. The axle came out from the drive side and I might have over tightened one of the bolts. The wheel is not spinning as freely. Seems like there is just a tad bit of resistance. Gonna take it apart and redo this later.

Anyways... everything was pretty straight forward except the hole on the rim for the valve... had to be enlarged a bit and drilling was involved. It was also a PIA to inflate the tire with only a floor standing pump. I only did the rear wheels but for now, I am going to call the tubeless thing a success. Saw no leaks and the tire is holding air fine... at least I think it does. Will have to check it in the morning tomorrow to confirm. This was done on stock Giant rims with Schwalbe Nobby Nic Pro

I am a firm believer in stan's sealant. The tire had a tiny puncture at the seam and stan's sealed it right up.
Can't wait for the weekend to ride!

Went out to the garage this morning to briefly check in on the tire. Looks like its holding but seems like it did lose a bit of air. I am pretty sure I pumped it up to 45psi last night but just on feel... felt like it went down about 5-10psi. Could be the colder temp in the morning. Will have to check again when I get back home tonight.

It'll take a little to coat the inside of the tire and all, especially if it's not a tubeless ready tire. Best thing would be to just ride it right after pumping it up. My rear was flat the day after initial setup. Rode it that following day after pumping it up again and held ever since then. Did you clean off the white powder inside the split tube?

F'n noob!

WTF! WATCH OUT THERE IS A CURB!!! My MTB instincts kick in and I pop up the front and it clears but... oh crap.... can't get the rear up. BOOM! and I see my phone flying off the mount then WHAT??? ANOTHER CURB??? Got my front up but again, couldn't clear the rear. I am braking and all of a sudden the rear slides out and I take a sliding fall into the grass. No one is hurt.... good! I walk back to look for my phone. Damn... screen cracked and basically it's toast. Sucks but ah ha! I brought my old nuvi as back up. I am still good... at least I thought. I walk back to my bike and.... and.... crappers. Flat in the rear.
Ah.... I guess this was when i dented my rear rim.....
