Congratulations. Our little future mountain biker just turned 20 months and I hope you have just as much fun and laughs with your Adam as we're having with our Andrew. Hope you don't value sleep much because you won't get any anymore.... ever.

LOL lucky for me I am good with little to no sleep. Mom not so much. But she is doing really well with it!

I learned the "you sleep when the baby sleeps" the hard way the other night. I was so happy to be home that I fell into my old routine of browsing the web and sipping on homebrew till midnight. Normally that is an early night for me. Especially when I dont have to be yelled at from upstairs to come to bed because its 3am and I have passed out hours ago.

Adam woke up a few times through the night I was in quite the fog. Made for a rough night but I caught up the next morning. Never again!

TBH things actually seem pretty easy at the moment. Maybe its just early but we were expecting the worst. Last night he woke up twice and only for a few minutes to eat. I think we got almost 7 hours sleep? Even the dr's today for his first check up said that we look well rested. Thanks Adam!

I'm only a 4 month vet so I don't know shit.....but for us, the first couple of weeks were deceptively easy. Things tend to go in cycles. A few good weeks, then a shit week. Then, a miraculous recovery and things are great again.
Some days you can't put him down without him screaming, some days he sleeps on command.

If you figure it out, let me know.

I will say this, as much as you love him now, wait till that first smile.

Enjoy.... And go ride your bike while you have a chance!
 
Fred should post about his first bike ride as a dad. A metaphor for fatherhood if I ever heard one. 🙂

That sounds good in theory but very seldom applied in the real world. We were given that advice but we find that while the baby sleeps you're busy catching up on things you had to put off while the baby is awake and occupying your time. It's been 20 months now for us and we'll still trying to catch up on our sleep. I get to play catch up when I go on my business trips but that's not even close to being enough. But all that doesn't matter when he smiles and raises his chubbie little arms up at you and he just falls into you arms.

Side note.... I guess spelling "chubbie" with a "y" instead of "ie" is a bad word because it turns to C***** when I tried.

Well if ya need any baby items let me know..

I still have 2 highchairs, a bunch of other toys ... and all kinds of clothes from my son.. SHoes n stuff... Im located in Jackson.. Id even say some of the clothes still have tags on em .. LMAO

So the second day home I sneak out while mom and lil dude are sleeping. I am going up Montgomery and flat. Its been a while since I had a flat. No sweat. Except my spare tube had a hole worn in it from being in my saddle bag for so long. Ok still not a huge deal cause I have a patch kit. Except its been so long since I used them that the glue was dry. Wonderful.


I was only a few miles from home but didnt wanna wake everyone up. Plus no way Mom was going to be thrilled about the idea of putting 4 day old Adam in the back seat of the car alone. So I had to roll down the hill and back home on the rim. MEH!

They outgrow em or family and friends buy so much that ya dont even know what ya have, esp with a boy and a girl its like bouncing off the rev limiter all the time..
