Camp Cromwell property

Seems like it’s been raining for days. But it’s just light on/off drizzle.

Rode in the rain today to see how it's holding up and I gotta say, excellent. At about 2pm conditions were primo, leaves are falling so it's slick and needs to be ridden so as to not get hidden. Brake check over the small concrete bridge, lost traction and ended up in the river.

New trails being cut by the magic crew, looks like a split down to the outer trail which has fun berms.

Started raining harder as I left around 5pm, some minor pooling but as seen by post ride pic, not much mud

Actually drove back home and returned as I forgot to pack my trail pal, Master Fu. Fu means good luck in Chinese. The idol was on top of my dad's fridge for 25 years. He passed earlier this year and I'll think about him as I ride by. I hope he brings everyone playing in the woods good fortune.

I like this, thanks Walter. Something to note is that the trail is going to be moved from that spot. We should discuss what you want to do with that after we reroute it. That spot is really bad when it gets wet, so we'll be going behind it on the side hill. Think about it.

Thanks for the trail report, I was wondering how things would be since the rain seemed to unexpectedly linger a bit today.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your dad, great way to remember him.

Is the new section between the Shed Trail and Stop Sign Trail going to be the Shotgun Connection? 🫣

(Guessing they were leftover from the Police Training)

Def not shotgun shells. Kinda looks like 223 simunitions but those cartridges aren't stepped like that. I bet it's some airsoft pellet holder for a replica rifle and some kid is pissed he lost them. 😂

The local police use this property as a training facility. They were there Monday when we were working and said they would be doing drills in that exact area later in the week.

The Chinese have an annual ritual called grave sweeping. It's sort of a family reunion where we remember our ancestors. We clean around the grave area and afterwards have a picnic or meal. Did this for my dad who's buried in Monmouth county. But figured to clean up the chimney and was able to make a sturdy bench. Enjoy, till the trail eventually moves.

Jason and I were back out yesterday continuing the re-working of the Shed. We will be back out for a few hrs tomorrow late morning/early afternoon (10/9) if anyone is around and wants to lend a hand.

I'm traveling but keep us posted when you need a hand again

Yeah. It’s worse today. We rode it this afternoon and it was borderline dangerous. Felt like I was riding on a downhill beach.
It was like riding a downhill beach last week, I gues some rain would do us good. Bummer there is none in the forecast.
