I've cracked 180 on a motorcycle in my young and dumb days.Let us know when you crack 180 mph

167 and I backed off.I've cracked 180 on a motorcycle in my young and dumb days.
I read that my bike was limited at 187 and wanted to test it out. It wouldn't go past 186. I did it twice and that was more than enough for me. Otherwise 120 was my limit. Until I was almost part of a police chase. After that I would very rarely crack 100.167 and I backed off.
Believe it or not, speed becomes irrelevant and almost unnoticeable on the track. Its relative, since everyone else is going more or less the same speed, you don't even really notice it, just your position and whoever you're chasing. The only thing you're looking at is your tach (sometimes), other riders, and braking points. My stomach is turning reading the last few comments while sitting at my desk. Don't think I could do that speed without a roll cage.
Descending NY73 from Lake Placid to Keene at 47mph on 25c tires and rim brakes was scary enough.Believe it or not, speed becomes irrelevant and almost unnoticeable on the track. I'm terrified breaking 35mph on my road bike. Skinny tires, in tights with a foam brain bucket on the road (oh, and useless brakes). Cars, trees, guardrails, hard pavement, etc. Best case scenario if you go down is a severe case of road rash? I don't even want to think about worst case. At least on the track I'm in full leather, armor, and I'm either crashing into an open field or heavily padded barrier.Descending NY73 from Lake Placid to Keene at 47mph on 25c tires and rim brakes was scary enough.
Still get ragdolled.
I remember one of those ADK decents. Fantastic reward for climbing.
I was full tucked and 47 was the max, I was trying and couldn't go any faster.I'm terrified breaking 35mph on my road bike.
