Car-spotting thread

Took yesterday off for a couple appointments. Perfect beautiful day to do some car browsing and cruising.

Waiting for my car to be inspected a crazy loud Porsche breezes by. I have some time to kill lets check out some cars.

First, new JL. WOW Still feels cheap. $15k car at best. I'll wait several years for used Rubicon.

There's a porsche dealer in Hunterdon? Looked around some eye candy. Cayman GTS.

Favorite looking Porsche. Car wash guy driving didn't speak any english or did not know how to start and drive it. This is freaking scary to have your pride and joy in hands like this...

Let me browse their used inventory. Oh, they have a 997.2 C2S manual. Sure let's go for a test.

HONESTLY, I was disappointed. I was thinking that a C2S would be my next car but I was underwhelmed. Maybe a great daily but not special. I am speechless. I don't even know what to say. It's got power but beloved s2000 is better in every other way. Simpler, lighter, smaller, ,more balanced, high reving, better manual transmission. That's a $90k car? Second hand $50k-60k. It ain't all there for that money. Perplexed.

Hop into my s2000. Ahhh yea. Life is better this way. Enjoyed it for the next hour in Ringoes, sourland, boro. I love my s2000!!!

That Chalk Cayman GTS has been out there since winter. I cringed every time the lot guy swept snow off it with a brush.

Why are you looking at convertible 911's? Completely different animals than the couple, why do you think they sell for less? The convertible 911 is what you buy your girlfriend or side piece.

I'm not. I would go 997 coupe. It was the only 997.2 manual they had so why not.

Hey man, someone hands you the keys tonanPorsche, you don't ask questions. The 911 was never designed as a convertible, so it's heavy. The Boxster on the other hand was designed from the ground up as a convertible, throw a roof on and its a Cayman. The Boxster/Cayman are the purer sports cars, smaller, lighter, mid-engine. And all Porsches are way overpriced.

It's back! 😀

and this has happened, as the sticker expired last year - @Carson, do i really need to display it, will block half the windshield!!

Garage mouse did less damage than previous years.

and topped er off. It was almost empty.

Mouse fix - go to a dollar store, get plastic bar soap containers and drill 'em full of holes. Place a bar of strong scented bar soap like Coast or Irish Spring in the container and secure in engine bay somewhere. When the scent dies break the bar in half to release more and replace as needed. I know I have mice yet they've never invaded the viper.

You don't have to display the inspection waiver; just keep it with your registration and scrape the old sticker off the windshield. Out of sight, out of mind.

That thing is so ugly it's actually kind of cool.
