Chimney Rock Conditions

It looks like log and leaves are redirecting water flow, causing the bridge to become undermined.

Once things thaw a bit, log and leaves should be cleared to allow water to flow under center of bridge where there's more clearance for water Clarence.

Happy trails.
Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?

Yeah I saw the log clogging the bridge. Will keep this in mind for a slow weekend. Should be easy enough.

I'm hiking red ATM. Anyplace the sun hits the trail and there is any moisture is soft.

BIG tree down on upper red interior (X marks the spot in pic below, tho I think it's a bit further in, past those 2 switch backs, too lazy to fix the pic).

Someone cleared it.

What are these markers?

Really? It hit 50 today, I'm shocked that it was still good. Same temps for tomorrow, wondering if this may be in the cards for me as opposed to Allaire
went out this morning when it was still in the 30s, already lots of soft spots...and i avoided white, lower red, lower blue, and blue switchbacks. now that's it's 50 gotta be getting worse

Took the pups out for a quick walk instead and can confirm blue and red are a sloppy mess per the one biker I Saw in the lot

Back at it with the HT crew today. Got a bunch of work done on east side of orange including a re-route or 2 and some other fixes. Sprung a leak at one spot, hopefully it dries out.

Also fixed the bridge on lower yellow. Turns out 2 pieces of trees got pushed into it during that last storm to throw it off base. We pulled them out and built it higher to help avoid the same fate. Should be good for a while.

Thanks to Ryan (sorry, don't remember board name) who spent the day with us working his tail off. And of course to Paul/HT and the crew he supplied.

More to come ...

Any updates available?

Are we at the time of the year where only frozen-solid is rideable here?

Thanks.

I've done all of the park except for blue the last 2 days and it's mostly fine. The worse is the trailhead from Gilbridge (close to CR Rd) to the ball-fields, deep mud. And the twistys on white are not great. As well as upper black. A few other muddy spots here and there but not enough of an issue to not ride.

WHAT HE SAID!!!

Altho might amend it today to avoid white, LOTS of standing water, and soft muddy spots (all the usual areas). Red had 3 or 4 such spots but not enough to avoid.

Blue was the best of all I rode. Some of the switchbacks were a bit soft (but not muddy), same for the lower bit I hit.

Was able to ride at close to dry summer conditions pace which says all you need to know about how good it is!

That's great to hear! I was wondering if last night's rain made it up there. Definitely hitting it tomorrow
