Drones overhead tonight (many)

this whole thing just reminds me of this

every freaking time something blows up in the news bc of social media

are there drones flying around? probably

are there as many as the internet makes it seem? probably NOT

are they unknown to the authorities? highly unlikely.

and does the average person even known how to identify a drone? probably not. . . . if there was something flying that low and that slow you would certainly hear SOMETHING, and if it was fairly quiet youd know its battery powered so fairly short range (especially with a helicopter style, which would be the only ones that could hover/move at slow speeds) as battery tech is not that phenomenal that you can hover these things for hours on end like people are claiming.

So there is a fb page and they had people out there, no crash site, just the sp looking for something... That helicopter has a FLIR camera on it, so probably why they are using it.

I think we need we need only to look at the Chinese spy Ballon a couple years ago..... Was it some huge secret that the government was trying to cover up? No... Everyone knew what it was, where it was at any given time, what jet they were sending after it... Even what missle they used to shoot it down...if this was an actual issue, I think we'd know alot more....nj has radar everywhere, if there is something car sized up there that wasn't a plane, they would be tracking it

I have yet to see a single video that isn't obviously a plane or helicopter... Except for this... This is not an airplane

I saw the starlink satellites fly bye...that was super cool 1733794641410.png

So, it’s not all bullshit. But 0 answers, and I doubt we will ever get any.

Asked why answers about the sightings are so hard to come by, Murphy said the drones are “very sophisticated.”

“The minute you get eyes on them, they go dark,” he said.

Is never ceases to amaze me how people would prefer to be lied to than except the simple truth......."we've never really watched airplanes before"

This happens to me sometimes....ill see a bird I have never seen before....i'll send a picture to @capedoc "HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THIS!" And he writes me back..."JFC that is the most common bird in NJ!"

When planes are circling to land, say in a holding pattern for whatever reason, what elevation are they at?

They are stacked up for lanbding, flying in an oval - the bottom one is cleared for approach, and the stack moves down.
The bottom of the stack is 3-4,000' above ground - with 2,000' spacing above each.

They try not to do this anymore as it wastes fuel - that is why they close the door on the plane, pull away a few hundred feet, and sit there.
Basically you are in a hold waiting for an arrival slot to open, maybe 8 hours away!

One thing we do see around here is planes lined up on approach - they are usually spaced about 10 miles apart, doing 250knts (about 5 miles per minute)
That leaves a couple minutes between landings.

Because there is no relative movement between them, it sometimes seems like they are hovering.

ya....and just think about what this looks like at night...

multiple planes coming in from the north to land at newark...being crossed by planes taking off from Teterboro, also other planes coming into land at JFK, other planes taking off from LGA.....

Then this is just some random time off of asbury...there was some video floating around of a bunch of lights in the sky off asbury...

Planes taking off from newark, planes on approach to land at both JFK and White plains AND newark...and taking off from JFK as well...all under 15000'.....going to look like alot of lit up objects in the sky

I once ran across a guy biking in MA. He was all excited about a bird he saw. It was a blue jay.

Guessing my man doesn't get outside much.

this was the other flight I saw that looked pretty unusual....Army blackhawk flying low and slow from Lakehurst, did a loop in morris/essex county and went back....I would say that is kinda weird...blackhawk flying that low im sure shook alot of houses. maybe it was looking for something....However, military pilots are always looking for an excuse to get more flight hours in...so if someone told them they could go drone hunting, im sure they would be all over it.

I thought it was Trump. I’ve often seen helicopters flying to bedminister from here… I think

I have no idea what was going on last week, but i've never seen that many planes before. And they haven't been back. They did look like planes to me, but why would we see just that much activity and not always about the same activity all the time? We go out sometimes and check out when the ISS flies by, or we used to, and i've never seen anything like last week. Maybe it was just heavy plane traffic, and if that's the case, why the hell would the FBI be involved?

My buddy had to show his ID to get into Spring Brook last week because the FBI was supposedly investigating a drone that crashed on the golf course. Of course, there is no video, pic or anything, but he's not full of shit, so the FBI did need his ID.

Just questions, I have no answers and I wasn't all that engrossed about it when it was happening. I told my wife and daughter, looks like planes to me. Still can't figure out why he FBI would be involved.
